So, I have been away for a WHILE and figured an update, for those who care, is in order. I survived the covid years, as we all did, and was able to graduate high-school. While in that hell whole, I was able to convince a few teachers and a ton of students to start a dnd club. I, for some reason, was voted into the position of President of the dnd club my senior year and helped establish a little bit of democracy, fair election processes, and some other mumbo jumbo while there. After my first semester as a senior was done, I bounced cause I had all my requirements met (thank whatever God there is for Summer school). I went to Prom, walked the stage, tossed my hat, and left.
After about 6 months of trying to get a job, I landed one at this little coffee shop about a 20 minute walk from my house. I worked there for about 6 months, learning how to make kickass coffee and rocking it by myself most closing shifts. I got my permit (again) and loved the freedom.
About month 4 of me working at the coffee shop, I realized just how bad home life was getting, so I made plans to leave. I got all my paperwork in order, found a couple of internet strangers that believed me and offered help, packed up my doggo, and left.
I'm honestly surprised the peoples didn't realize I was leaving since I bought like 7 big moving totes, but that worked out for me.
I found out recently the man that raised me is not my biological father (23 and me is a big game changer), but bio mom is still denying any of it. My rock in all this has been the friends I made online and my maternal grandma, and of course the pupper dog, Ozzy Pawsborne (obligatory pic at end of rant).
While in my new state, I found a dumped kitten on a back road, named by the police officer who showed up as Smokey (Pic, again, at end).
I'm job hunting, but things aren't exactly easy when not a lot of places around you have online applications, but I'm surviving. I don't feel as caged as I did then, and I'm finally reaching out to the places and things that once brought me so much joy. I hope my writing skills have improved though, cause YEESH.
