ALSO this is just the first chapter I didn't write anything else
Socks sat at the bus stop watching as the cars drove past, the smell of exhaust clouded his nose and he coughed. It was already a boring day and his friend Meme was supposed to be meeting him here he was nowhere to be seen. Socks stood up and decided he would just text Meme and let him know he had to leave early, due to some excuse that he would come up with later. He started leaving the cover of the bus overpass as a voice called out, "Socks! Where are you going?" Socks turned to see Meme running up to him and he sighed.
"Meme you're late." Socks sighed, Meme shrugged apologetically and then returned his excited gaze back to Socks.
"I found a new game that I think we should play for a youtube video!" Meme said, Socks' interest peaked and he crossed his arms.
"What's the game?" He asked, Meme smiled at him.
"I thought you would never ask! It's a game called Andy's apple farm I think-" Meme said hesitantly. Socks tried to recall ever hearing about that game, but nothing came up in his memories.
"Never heard of it, What's it about?" Socks asked, cracking his knuckles.
"Its like a horror game or something, We should definitely play." Meme said, they started walking down the road to Socks' place, which wasn't too far away.
"Even though you're a definite chicken?" Socks teased, Meme glared at him.
"I have more courage than you do Socks!" Meme shouted, Socks covered his right ear which was right next to Meme when he shouted.
"Ow, can you not shout please?" Socks begged, his ear was still ringing.
"Sorry not sorry," Meme spat as he crossed his arms and quickened his pace. Socks strained to catch up and eventually was matching the short doctor's pace. Meme still had his armed cross and was leaning forwards as he was storming down the street. Socks stifled a laugh at the way he was walking. "Laughing at me some more?" Meme asked him, he turned to look at Socks stopping both of them from walking forwards.
"Yes-" Socks wheezed, he knew he shouldn't be laughing but he couldn't stop.
"Fine, I'm just gonna head home, I'll talk to you later.." Meme grumbled, he turned around and started walking towards the bus stop that they had just met at. Sock sighed in disappointment and continued walking towards his house. He opened his door and stepped inside, he turned around and locked the deadbolt. He then walked up the stairs to his room and walked into his room. He turned on his computer and fell on his bed. He pulled out his phone and turned on youtube. He saw that Blaza had messaged him something but he didn't care to answer at the moment. He dropped his phone and got off his bed. He walked over to his gaming chair and sat down. He quickly opened up Google and typed 'Andy's apple farm' in the search bar. The suggestion was a link to Steam which he clicked. The game wasn't fully developed yet but there was an option to play the beta.
"Yeah, I'll play the beta." Socks murmured to himself and clicked on the link. A bright green bar appeared with the words underneath reading. 'Downloading 10/100%' He stretched and got up and grabbed his phone that he left on his bed. He went back to his chair and scrolled through youtube for a while, before a flashing light surprised him. He took a look at his computer screen and saw the game already opening up.
"Isn't there usually a pop up asking to open the game?" He wondered aloud he glanced at the time on his phone and realized it was 12 o'clock AM "Ah- I should probably go to sleep!" He said as he observed the time carefully. "Is that right? It felt like 5 just a few minutes ago-?" He muttered, he decided to not think too carefully into it and pressed the button on his computer to turn it off. The fans' wiring slowly died down and eventually stopped leaving the soft hum of silence. He set his alarm for 6 am since he was meeting Blaza and Meme early tomorrow. He closed his eyes and waited for sleep to come.
He opened his eyes and realized he was outside of his house. He looked around at his surroundings and realized he was in what looked like an orchard. It was an Apple farm, Socks reached up and grabbed an apple. He took a bite out of it and was instantly disgusted. He spit out the small chunk of apple and watched it bounce on the ground. He glanced at the apple he had taken a bite out of and saw that there was what looked like a black mass of worms trying to crawl out the apple. He threw it into the dense pack of trees and watched as it bounced and rolled behind a tree. He saw a barn in the distance and started walking towards it slowly. He saw a line of picnic tables in a row and 4 people were sitting together. He ran up and saw one of the people turn around. He mainly had blonde hair and a small bear onesie. He had fins coming off the side of his face and the front part of his hair was purple and light blue, the same color as the fins.
"Blaza?" He asked as he ran up.
"Hey Socks!" He shouted waving, he had a big smile on his face, it was so big it seemed fake. Socks glanced at the three other people sitting at the table.
"Nadwe, Muffin, Meme? What are you guys doing here?" Socks asked. Meme laughed, his face had lines pointing around at random parts of his face like a clock. Muffin was in a set of blue overalls and his hair was longer. He also had bright green eyes. Different from his normal dull blue. Nadwe had a beanie on instead of his two tophats. Like Muffin he had overalls on but they were red with white dots all over them. Socks glanced at what he was wearing and realized it wasn't his usual orange space suit, it was an outfit similar to Nadwes, he had a set of white overalls over an orange sweater. He could feel his helmet sitting comfortably on his head so that was normal at least.
"What are you guys doing right now?" Socks asked. Meme took a bite out of an apple and smiled at him.
"We're just eating right now, Care for an apple?" Meme asked as he held out an apple that had the same black seething mass that the apple that Socks had earlier. Socks gave Meme a blank stare as Meme looked at him in confusion.
"Want to play a game?" Muffin asked leaning over the table to get closer to Socks. Socks really had a few things he would rather do than play games like figure out where he was or you know figure out what's going on.
"I guess." Socks muttered.
"We all have bonus stickers. If you collect all those bonus stickers we'll give you a prize!" Nadwe smiled, his voice was off, it had an odd sort of his normal voice and a western accent.
"What's the prize?" Socks asked.
"Well wouldn't that ruin the surprise of the prize-?" Meme started then Blaza cut him off with a sickening smile.
"Its the keys to your house!" he laughed. Socks paused, he turned his cold gaze to Blaza and took a breath in.
"You- you took my keys?" Socks asked.
"Hehe Yeah we did!" Muffin laughed.
"But-but why would you do that?" Socks stuttered, his voice glitching out.
"You gotta get all the bonus stickers-" Blaza's voice glitched out and faded it began to overlap "You gotta get all the bonus stickers to get it back!" Blaza exclaimed.
"Yeah don't fret Socks, it'll be fun!" Nadwe laughed. Socks wanted to yell at his friends that they were insane and he wasn't going to do that but instead it seemed like someone else was speaking for him.
"Alright if you guys say so.." He muttered.
"Great!" The four of them said in terrifying unison. Socks shuffled uncomfortably and watched as his friends separated from each other and went to their own separate areas. He decided he would talk to Nadwe first since he was the closest and since Meme seemed to be concentrating on the chess board he had out in front of him. He walked down and watched as Nadwe was sorting through baskets of fruit, making sure they were perfect and organized. He walked up quietly and crouched down next to Nadwe.
"Whatcha You doing?" Socks asked. Nadwe jumped and the baskets tipped over spilling the fruits on to the freshly churned dirt obviously meant for planting more trees.
"Gosh dang it Socks! You scared me.. Now all the fruits are spilled everywhere and they are also disorganized." Nadwe grumbled in frustration. He glared at his friend and bit his lip. "Ooh! I have an offer, you help me organize the fruit, since the reason its spilt in the first place is because of you. You help me organize it and I give you a bonus sticker, sounds good?" Nadwe asked calmly. Socks hesitated for a second.
"I'll help you in the moment, i'm just exploring." Socks told him. He placed a hand on Nadwe's shoulder and the area went dark. Nadwe was now on his knees pleading to Socks, "Socks! Help me please!" Nadwe screamed, his voice sound crackly like an old broken TV. Socks quickly ripped his hands away and fell over, breathing heavily he picked himself up and dusted off his white overalls.
"Nadwe are you okay?" Socks asked, Nadwe slowly tilted his head towards him and smiled.
"I'm okay Socks." He said happily as he turned back to the fruits. "I'll just be waiting here," he said. Socks turned around and slowly backed away. He then turned and started running for the docks. Not taking a shortcut through the forest because when he got close it seemed like the tall oaks would fill him with dread, a weary terrifying reminder that he was trapped in-, well wherever and whatever this place was. He ran up to the docks and saw Blaza sitting humming happily and fishing. Blaza turned to see Socks running towards him and smiled.
"You wanna fish with me?" Blaza asked, Socks paused to catch his breath and Blaza continued.
"I will give you a bonus sticker if you catch at least three fish," he declared, Socks breathed in and shook his head.
"No right- now-" Socks panted, Blaza's eyes grew dark and he bit his lip.
"What did you just say?" Blaza asked in a deeper, more threatening voice.
"Im exploring right now and I thought I would just check on you. I'll go fishing in a second." Socks said. Blaza narrowed his eyes and looked silently furious. Black started dripping down his face and his bright blue eyes, which if Socks remembered correctly were normally brown disappeared. Leaving black void. Blaza gave a creepy smile; it seemed like his mouth was just as empty.
"Well. When. You. Are. Done." Blaza snarled out, "Come. to. Me." he finished. He then smiled once more and his face went back to happy old Blaza. Bright blue eyes with white sclera unlike the pure black version Socks had just seen seconds ago. His mouth was also back to its normal toothed smile. No empty and terrifying oblivion to be seen. He then started reeling in, as something was slowly being pulled out of the water. Socks watched as something pale emerged.
"B-Blaza thats a hand!" Socks screamed as the item was fully revealed. Blaza laughed and shook his head.
"Silly goose this isnt a hand." Blaza said as he grabbed the hand, it glitched and a small tan fish was in Blaza's hand. "Maybe you do need glasses." Blaza laughed. Socks quickly walked away and started heading towards where muffin was passing by Meme. Socks decided he would talk to Meme since he wasn't ready for what horrors Muffin possibly had to offer.
"Hi Memegod." Socks said calmly, he didn't know what would happen if he angered Meme but he didn't want to find out.
"Hello Socks, Care for a game of chess?" Meme asked, waving his hands to the prepared chess board that sat in front of him. Socks loved playing chess back in middle school before he got addicted to video games in highschool, but as he stared at each piece, it seemed forign to him.
"I don't know how to play chess." Socks finally said after a moment. Meme sighed, it then seemed like a lightbulb lit up for him.
"How about a game of I Spy?" Meme asked, now that was a game that Socks could definitely play.
"How about in a minute, I want to talk to Muffin." Socks said, Meme nodded in acknowledgement and started messing with the chess pieces. Humming the tune the Blaza was before Socks started talking to him. Socks stumbled over to where Muffin had gone off to. Muffin was playing on a small instrument sitting down. Socks couldn't really tell what it was. Socks walked over and sat down in grass across from Muffin.
"Hi Socks." Muffin murmured calmly.
"Hello Muffin," Socks said, dipping his head towards the 14 year old.
"Would you like to play a rhythm game with me?" he asked quietly. Pulling one of the strings on the instrument as it made a small twink.
"Perhaps in a moment, I-im needed by Blaza." Socks said, Muffin nodded his eyes hiding behind his hair that hung in his face.
"Well before you do that, I need you to wake up." Muffin said.
"Did I hear you correctly? Did you say I need to wake up?" Socks asked, Muffin nodded.
"Socks wake up." He said, the words continued to echo.
"Socks! WAKE UP! PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!"
