Here's another that's been eating away at me for a while...

Maddie's life was simple, she'd go to school, do her homework, hang out with friends and sometimes babysit her little sister for her parents. Simple.

Until she discovered that her best friend, Nate, had super powers.

She was automatically whisked into his world. A parallel universe full of secret missions and saving the world.

And she loved it.

But then he came along. Marcus. He has powers, too, only he doesn't use them for good. He's Nate's new arch-nemisis, only Nate doesn't know it because he is posing as a friend. But Maddie finds out and Marcus threatens to tell the whole world Nate's secret if she tells him or anyone about it. He wants to either kill or control Nate, so he can rule the world! He's evil, right?

So why did he save Maddie, the only person threatening the safety of his secret?

And no one is more baffled than Maddie when - in the heat of an argument - Marcus kisses her, before fleeing the scene, leaving Maddie in a confused mess.

Is it all to play with her mind? Or does Marcus actually have feelings for her? And what happens when Nate suddenly tells Maddie that he loves her, and has done ever since grade school - when they met?

With super heroes, villainous kisses and emotions that betray her, poor Maddie is beginning to feel the pressure of being the best friend of a super hero. But I think it's time to take you back to where it all began...
