Lending a Hand

"Angel!" Levi cried as he strode towards me. "I need a favor!"

"Oh no," I groaned. "Is this gonna be as time consuming as the last one?"

"Nope, it'll be fun!" He smiled then quickly transformed it into a frown. "For you anyway."

"I'm listening," I smirked.

Levi took a deep breath and launched into his tale. "There is this girl who really likes me and she's gonna ask me to the dance at lunch today and I really don't like her but I don't want to hurt her feelings so I need you to pretend to be my girlfriend. I'll say yes and when I give you the signal, stomp up to me and yell at me." He took another deep breath in closing.

"That does sound pretty fun," I grinned.

"So will you?" Levi pleaded.

"Hmmm," I tapped my chin. "Why not."

"Thank you so much!" He screeched and hugged me tightly.

"No problem," I snorted.

As lunch arrived, I lied in wait behind a bustling crowd until I could get the signal. I watched as a tall blonde girl strode up to Levi confidently. She hugged him and left her hand on his arm as they talked.

I can see why he needs my help.

Then I got the signal. Levi took a strand of the girl's hair and twirled it around his finger. A real feeling of jealousy welled up inside me and I stormed towards them.

"What do you think you're doing?" I shouted at the girl.

"None of your business," She spat.

"It is my business! That's my boyfriend you touching," I growled. She quickly moved her hand from his arm. I whirled on Levi.

"And you! I told you this was your last chance!" I shouted, drawing attention to the scene. Levi looked genuinely shocked by my presentation.

"I-," He stammered. I lashed my hand out and slapped him across the face as hard as I could. He held his hand to his cheek and glared at me.

"Dang," He whispered. "For such a small girl, you can really hit! What was that for anyway? She already left."

"Whatever," I scoffed and whirled on my heals and stormed away.

I heard a voice fading behind me. "Wait, are you still acting?"
