The REAL meeting

The man walked into the building in fancy manner, opening both door to the foyer of the building. The building look nice in the inside compared to the outside, having very expensive looking carpet, chairs and couches around the foyer, and a big chandelier hanging from the ceiling. The man walked up to the lady receptionist who was looking at him.

"Hello Mr. Avery! Why are you here today?" the receptionists asked. "I'm here for a meeting," the man said, taking off his top hat. The receptionist went to their computer, "Code of the meeting?" Avery looked around the foyer. There were a few people there some in groups on the couches, some sitting alone. Avery slowly leaned toward the woman, making her lean also.

"Pentachord," he whispered. The woman eyes widen. That code was known for meetings with a bunch of dangerous men and women in them. The woman nominated while typing on her computer. After a few seconds the woman pulled out a card. "Here you go sir. I think you know where to go." Avery grabbed the card, "Thank you my dear," then he walked away.

Avery walked down the hallway, sometimes looking behind him to see if there's someone behind him. The hallway had a series of doors, some of them being really meltisonous behind it. He was stopped by a hand grabbing his shoulder. He then quickly turned around, seeing who it was he sighed.

"Janus, you scared me." Janus was a mute man who knew Avery since they were young. He is also known for being a bilignost with medicines and surgery. Janus looked at Avery's hand that was holding the card then pointed at it. "Oh this? Just for me to get into the meeting." Janus pointed at himself then at Avery. "You want to go with me? No, that's not a good idea you know that you have topophobia, and I don't want you to have a panic attack." Janus just nodded. Avery sighed, "Look, how about this, I'll rescind all my plans for tomorrow so you and me can go out, just like the old days!" Janus nodded excitedly. Avery chuckled, "Alright my friend, I'll see you then."

Janus and Avery went their separate ways, Avery's stopping sooner than the other. He stopped at a dark green door with a peep hole in the middle of it. Avery knocked on the door twice then stopped. The door opened slightly, showing nothing but darkness. "Your card?" a gruff voice says from the dark. Avery handed the card to the person, making them slowly grab it. It felt like an eternity before the person gave the card back. "You may come in," the person said, opening the door wider for Avery to enter the room.

"Ah, Avery... glad you can make it." Avery looked to the place that the voice came from. It was Miss Zheng, one of the few women in the meeting and the one with the most experience compared to everyone else. She met Avery when he started this job, being his mentor for most of it. Avery slowly walked to Zheng, "And you as well. How was your mission?" Zheng slightly smiled, "It was alright, etoliated most of the time but all is good." Avery hummed, "Did you get your target? Last person who tried wasn't able to." Zheng nodded, "All I had to do was sneak into the kitchen and put a little poison into the champignon that the target had ordered. I guess they though it was a little bit saliferous when they ate it." Avery was about to say something until a small bell was heard. That meant that the meeting was about to start, everyone started to take their seats, Avery sitting next to Zheng.

"Ladies and gentlemen, You must be wondering why I brought you here on short notice," a man said standing at front of the room. "I have a mission that I would like some of you to do." Zheng bumped her elbow into Avery's side, making him pay attention to the man. "There's a man in India that owes me some things, but I can't go since I have duties here." The man took a deep breath, "I know this mission is like being noctivagant but I need this done."

Zheng leaned to Avery, "We should do it." Avery whipped his head to her, "Are crazy?! This is India we are talking about we're wanted there!" Zheng laughed quietly, "So what, that makes it more exciting." Avery thought about it. He can't just leave Janus here, he'll be alone and won't have any there for him. But...on the other hand, he could bring Janus with him. Avery looked at Zheng, "Fine, but-" he was interrupted by Zheng grabbing his arm, forcing his body to stand up with her. "We will like to do the mission, sir." The man looked at Avery and Zheng smiling, "Thank you two, we will discuss more on Thursday. Meeting dismiss."

Everyone started the stand, leaving the room. Zheng let go of Avery's arm, "Well, I guess I'll see you then." Avery nodded, putting his top hat back on, "And you as well, Zàijiàn."

"Zàijiàn," Zheng says, they both left the room and parted ways.
