"Yup, got it ma - I mean, Roger! Roger, roger... Roger." 

May smiled as the male hastily corrected himself. He had been working with a team trying to set up a radio station, but got moved to work with them. It was his first real mission, and the team believe he was put on this team to lighten up the mood.

"Okay..." A woman's voice rang into May's ears through her headset, as she peeked out the small gap between the pilot's seats. The woman sighed.

"You and me both know we don't have as much resources as they need, so we need to be careful how much we give everyone." Said the woman. May nodded, still trying to look outside.

Suddenly, a loud clang was heard and May widened her eyes. More clanging followed.

"We're being shot at!" yelled the woman from up front. 

"Oh my god... WHY THE H*LL IS SOMEONE AIMING A ROCKET LAUNCHER - "

She was cut off by a loud explosion. May looked around wildly, as a fire sounded towards the left.

"We lost the left -" her voice was drowned out by the loud sound of the plane falling. May would have screamed, but she couldn't.

She grabbed a parachute, standing. She ran to the back of the plane as the hatch opened, and jumped.

As she jumped, the plane blew up.

She opened the parachute, turning to look for other survivors.

None.

She felt tears sting her eyes, but turned to the ground as it was coming to her quicker than she would like.

"Hello?" the panicked voice of the male rang was speaking to her in her headset. "I can't see what's going on down there... but I do hope someone can here me. I can see a parachute...

"Anyways, my name's Samuel. See that tower in the east? You need to go there. You should grab some useful stuff on the way, just... hurry back? Okay?"

There was a long pause as she neared the ground.

"Oh no... Hey! If you're alive: You are gonna land in a hoard of zoms!  As soon as you hit the ground, Run! Hear me? RUN!" he yelled. May landed, unhooking the parachute. She had little time to think about the Sam's nickname for the undead as she instantly had to take off running.

She heard loud groaning as she began, but didn't waste time to look back.

She was a runner now.

"Hey! I see someone! She's running! Towards the tower, like I said! There's a survivor!" his voice sounded in May's ears, sounding excited and somewhat happy. She smiled slightly, continuing to run. 

He laughed for a little bit, before it quickly faded. "Oh.. No...." his voice was full of dread.

"Listen, there's a pack of zoms right at the edge of the forest. I need you to head slightly south to avoid them, got it?" Sam said nervously. A pause.

"No, I'm not gonna ask her to do that..." he muttered to someone. A female's voice replied.

Then she neared the mic, and spoke.

"Listen, runner, we need some stuff out of a hospital that you're gonna pass by. We are low on medical kits, and there should be some still there from the first wave. So, if you can, please... try to grab at least one." she pleaded.

"You shouldn't... the last runner we sent there didn't make it out." interrupted Sam, sounding worried and annoyed. "Remember? Runner Five? She was the fastest runner we had! We can't just send this new girl to go there!" 

"Listen, Runner, everyone here at this town... needs to earn their keep. I'm afraid that if you don't bring one or two... we cannot let you in." said the woman. She seemed to walk away, and Sam sighed.

"I'm sorry Runner... Hopefully you can get something. Hey, can you hear me? Any response" Sam paused. May sighed, swerving south. It just so happened that she was a Mute. "Well, you're heading south, so I guess so. Can you talk back? Does it allow that? No? Okay, well.. Stay safe, runner. And good luck."
