Warning - this story is based off of a really depressing nightmare. This will be sad, and self-harm is mentioned.
You have been warned.
Jay Black stepped to the beat of the song she was listening to, which was Sit Still Look Pretty by Daya. She switched the blue and white handle for Skipper's leash to her left hand.
Skipper - her 12-year-old dog - trotted ahaid of her and looked around their neighborhood.
A loud wailing sounded from the top of the street, and Jay froze and turned around.
Fire.
Her house was on fire.
She shrieked and began to run up to the house which her family was inside. As she reached the usually white house with a black roof she was held back by a man in a full yellow suit. She shrieked as the burning house was darkening, becoming fully black. She dropped Skipper's leash and her backpack, before ducking under the fireman's arm and running closer.
A small 10-year-old girl with short curly dark brown hair was being carried in a stretcher. Jay looked around for the ambulances.
But there were none.
Her little sister was set down and a fireman began to preform CPR, and her little grey/blue eyes slowly moved to see Jay.
Jay fell to her knees, not caring if her new pants were stained by the wet grass. She took her sister's hand and clutched it, looking into the eyes of her sister.
"It's gonna be okay, Autumn. Your gonna be okay." Said Jay softly, her voice cracking as her eyes filled up with tears.
Ambulances were finally here, but as they pulled up in front of the house a loud crack sounded.
"Get out of there!" A voice yelled, and a couple of people ran out. Just fireman.
And the house collapsed. The first floor caved in, killing anyone in the house, an the front dipped in, meaning the basement somehow collapsed also.
Anyone inside would be dead.
Jay screamed, years streaming down her tan cheeks. She turned back to her sister, who was being picked up by doctors.
"What took so long!" She screamed at one.
"Traffic." They responded, and ran off to rush Autumn back to the hospital.
Traffic.
Jay fell to her knees. Skipper raced over to her, her leash dragging behind her.
"Traffic." Said Jay, and felt an hand on her shoulder.
"Jay?" It was a male. Her friend for 8 years had come, and stood there behind her.
"Jay, come over to our place." Said his father. Jay stood slowly and grabbed Skipper's leash and her backpack, and walked over.
She was in a state of shock.
"Traffic."

Jay raced into the room, her eyes wide.
She had just received news that Autumn was unsavable, and was dieing. Her friend's dad had taken her to the hospital to see her.
Just in time.
Jay raced to Autumn's side, crying. She grabbed one of her hands in both of hers, looking at her small and innocent face.
Autumn slowly turned her head to face Jay, and the ghost of a smile flashed across her face.
"It's gonna be okay." Said Jay. "Everything will be okay. " She said, getting choked up.
"I love you." Autumn said softly. Jay smiled slightly.
"I love you too. More than anything." Said Jay.
Sorry, I'm getting choked up just by writing it.
Hold up.
Okay, let's keep going.
Autumn smiled and fell limp, her eyes clouding over.
Jay was crying even harder, her face now covered with tears and her sister getting wet also.
Jay's eyes suddenly burned with hatred. She waited for a doctor to come in, and turned to them.
"TRAFFIC?" She screamed in his face. He looked suprised.
"What -"
"YOU COULDNT SAVE MY SISTER BECAUSE OF TRAFFIC!" She screamed, still crying.
"No-"
But he was cut off as Jay punched his nose, breaking it. He stepped back, blood staining his white jacket.
The door flew open as more people rushed in, holding back a screaming Jay.
Eventually, Jay fell limp and resorted to hysterical sobbing. He sister was dead. Her mother was dead. He father was dead.
Her godparents had died in a car crash earlier.
Jay was alone.
Except for Skipper, who now stood at her side, whimpering.
***
Jay sat on the bed, leading against the headboard. Her earbuds were in, and her eyes watched the screen of her tablet. She still had that.
Skipper was curled up at Jay's feet, trying to sleep
Jay had stayed in bed all day, only getting up to use the bathroom. She ate in bed, but only a small amount. She fed the rest to Skipper. She had been like this all month, but now summer was ending and the private school her parents had paid for - with the help of her scholarship.
Actually, I don't mean to brag, but I do have a scholarship for my private school and I've had it for 3 years in a row. Please don't take this as bragging, but it makes me proud.
Now I'm sad again because when I first heard I got a scholarship I was with my grandparents.
They died a few months later.
;-;
She was watching PewDiePie telling about who knows what. Normally she would roar with laughter, but now all sense of happiness had left her.
***
School had been different. Jay ate school lunches, and had been aloud to keep Skipper with her at all times. She was silent, doing her work alone and at break leaning against the fence and petting Skipper.
But one day everything changed.
Everyone had gathered in the Great Room for an announcement. The principle stood in front of the school.
Jay ignored what she said, but immediately became interested when someone walked over to the principle.
It was none other than PewDiePie himself.
Jay ignored his speech, and had just stared. Afterwards, she had seen him in the hallway. She grabbed his wrist, but when he looked at her she released him awkwardly.
"Sorry." She said. Her voice was reduced to a croak after having not been used in months.
She cleared her throat.
"I just wanted to ask you if you could sign this." She said, opening up a notebook to two pages covered with pictures of PewDiePie. The man smiled as Jay handed him her pen and signed it. She looked at the signature and took back the pen, and smiled.
Jay smiled.
"I always dreamed of meeting you, but I thought I stood no chance. I used to think that would be the happiest day of my life." Jay said. Her smile faded.
"Is something wrong?" Asked PewDiePie, or better known as Felix.
Since Jay was unresponsive, Felix said "You don't have to tell me."
Jay nodded.
"Thanks so much." She said, hugging him. When she stepped back, she then brofisted him and he walked away.
Skipper whined, and Jay clutched her book to her chest.

The next day, two days before her 13th birthday, things began to change. At break, Jay started singing His name is PewDiePie by Roomie. The students began to wonder, how had this Felix (aka Fi-Fi, on a trip to Washington DC in the bus my classmates decided to be nice and asked me what his real name was. I said Felix and they said "Do you call him Fi-Fi?" And we cracked up.) made Jay smile and sing?
Jay's birthday arrived, and special video was on PewDiePie's channel.
Jay smiled at the title, which was "It's a day."
She tapped it and watched.
"How's it going Bros my name is PeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeewDiePie. And today is a day.
Or, it's a birthday.
So some of you know, I have been traveling around America trying to raise money for cancer research places and stuff.
I went to a private school and there was this girl - one if those 12 year old fangirls I talk about a lot - who asked me to sign her book.
I did and she had this cheesy speech prepared, but u really appreciated it.
I then spoke with her classmates, apparently she has been having a ruff life-"
He smiled. "Puns. Oh. It might make more sense if you know - she has a dog that never leaves her side."
"Anyways, she has been having a rough life and I wanted to make her feel better-
I know what you Bros are saying 'What is with the cheesy speeches PewDiePie' and 'why do you suddenly care about one fangirl why not me poods'.
Because I have this gut feeling. I am a changed man." And he suddenly started fake coughing.
"Sorry. So, happy birthday Jay. She will no longer be one of those 12-year-old fangirls. But yeah.
NOW LETS DO SOME VR!"
Jay stopped the video, open-mouthed.
And then began to laugh.
She laughed about the fact that he wished her a happy birthday.
His terrible pun.
And the fact that she talked to him.
Maybe life wasn't so bad.
Maybe this could get better.
