I wrote this one for the Cupid's Match one-shot contest.

Tomorrow was Single Awareness Day- excuse me, I mean Valentines Day- and I'm single.

The only highlight to this all is that my friend, Kaur, was single too so she was going to be spending it with me because she was single too. Did I mention she was also single?

My phone buzzed. I answered it.

"Hey! It's Kaur. I just needed to let you know I won't be able to come tomorrow. Oliver asked me out on a date."

"What?"

"Why don't you find a date and we could go on a double date!"

"Who would I ask?

"How about your friend, Cal?"

"There is no way he's still single."

"You don't want to come?"

"No."

"Okay! Bye!"

"Yeah."

I hung up.

I was out of food.

I drove to the nearest store and scanned the shelves.

"Shopping?"

It's Cal.

"Just some stuff for some emotional eating tomorrow."

"I thought Kaur was spending the day with you."

"She got a date."

"With who?"

"Oliver."

He frowned. "Hold on." He checked his phone. "Hey, I know this is going to sound weird, but you wanna crash their date? With some friends?"

"Sure!"

"Get more details on their date and then we can plan the crashing."

"Okay!"

The next day I meet Cal in front of the mall where Oliver and Kaur are supposed to have their date.

He is with a hot guy and a brown-headed guy.

"This is friend Luke." Cal gestured to the brown-head and then nodded to the hot guy. "And this is my brother Cupid. He heard we were crashing a date so he had to come."

"So, do you know their plans?" Luke asks.

"They plan to go to lunch and do some shopping then go back to Oliver's house and watch a movie."

"So here's we're going to do: One of us is going to spill food on Oliver. They'll want to get to Oliver's house so he can change. Then comes the real fun," Cupid told us.

During Kaur and Olivers dinner date Luke came along and "accidentally" spilled some food on Oliver. He stood up gasping in shock and surprise, but he just smiled and told Luke it was okay.

Just like planned they went back to Oliver's house.

We stole the cars and parked them a few blocks away.

A few minutes later Luke and I crouched by each other behind some bushes, waiting for Cal and Cupid to scare the couple out.

Suddenly a weird feeling came over me and my eyes locked with Luke's

"Would you like to go on a date tonight?" he asked.

I accepted.

I suddenly heard laughing. I looked around and saw Cupid, Oliver, and Kaur laughing really hard and even Cal had a small smile on his lips. Luke looked startled.

"You guys set us up!" I realized. "C'mon, Luke. Let's go on that date and leave Cupid and Cal here to get their own ride."

"Hey!" Cupid called after us. "You can't just leave us!"

Luke and I got into the vehicle. "Happy VALENTINE'S day!"

And we drove off leaving everyone stranded.
