Diantha vs Leon Redone

After just barely making it to the stadium, Ash and Cynthia had gotten their seats to watch the newest battle taking place. The Semi-Finals of the Masters Tournament, Leon vs Diantha. The Strongest Trainer in the World vs the Kalos Champion. The two slowly made their way to the field, both waving to the people. Deep in Diantha's mind, she was conflicted. This was the strongest trainer currently living, whereas she was a champion with not the best track record when it came to battling. It was no matter; she was going to try her best and win for Kalos!

Both trainers stopped at the edges of the field, where the announcer called out their names before raising his flag. They both stared at each other, anticipation and determination running through their veins. "BEGIN!" The announcer yelled as he waved his flag down. Grabbing their Pokeballs, both champions threw their first choice Pokemon. "Let's go Rillaboom!" Leon yelled, the bright light of the pokeball showing the grass monkey with its wooden drum set. "Shine Hawlucha!" Diantha yelled, the bright light revealing the luchador fighting bird.

Leon smirked, making the first move. "Rillaboom let's start with Drum Beating!" Rillaboom nodded, smacking the wooden drum set in front of him. The trunks at the bottom of the drum began to extend, forming into vines that shot out towards Hawlucha. "Dodge and use the vines!" Diantha called out. Hawlucha grit her teeth as she dodged the mass of wood tendrils, jumping on them and rushing towards Rillaboom. "Hit him with an X-Scissor!" Holding her arms in front of her with a green glow, Hawlucha shot forward and struck Rillaboom in the face with the super effective attack. The grass monkey stumbled back but glared down at Hawlucha. "Give it some payback with Knock Off!" Leon yelled, Rillaboom raise his hand and slam it down on Hawlucha's head. Despite not being super effective, the force alone made Hawlucha's head spin. "Hit Hawlucha with another Drum Beating!" Due to being hit, Hawlucha didn't have enough time to dodge as the wooden tendrils wrapped around her, slamming her into the ground and back in front of Diantha.

Diantha bit her lip at this battle. While she did have the type advantage, Leon had trained his Rillaboom to be an absolute tank. Once Hawlucha got up, she called out a Swords Dance, Hawlucha doing a small dance that raised its attack. "Rush in with a Poison Jab!" She called out, Hawlucha blasting forward. "Don't let her get close! Keep using Drum Beating!" A wave of wooden tendrils shot out once again, Hawlucha dodging and getting nicked by the attacks. She was able to burst through, slugging Rillaboom in the face with the Poison Jab. Rillaboom grit his teeth as he stumbled back, a purple glow coating his face. "Oh no Rillaboom!" The poisoned Pokémon coughed but nodded at his trainer to show he can keep going. Leon nodded and smirked, "Knock Off!" Rillaboom raised his hand, swinging it down but was countered by Hawlucha using X Scissor. They entered a stalemate, both glaring and growling as they pushed on each other. Hawlucha grit her teeth as she felt her feet dig into the ground, suddenly being slammed down and causing a cloud of dust to shoot up. When it cleared, Hawlucha was unconscious. "Hawlucha is unable to battle! The winner is Rillaboom!"

Diantha smiled gently as she returned her Pokémon, giving her a quiet thanks before choosing her next Pokémon.  "Lets go Aurorus!" Diantha unleashed her fossil pokemon, the ancient tundra beast looming over Rillaboom. Leon only smiled at the challenge of fighting another Pokémon with a type advantage. Once they were allowed to begin, Diantha called her first move. "Reflect!" A light sheen of energy coated Aurorus, weakening any and all physical moves. "Drum Beating!" Rillaboom pounded on the drum, letting the wooden tendrils shoot out. "Blizzard!" Aurorus roared as he shot out a freezing cold wind, freezing the tendrils and hitting Rillaboom face first of the super effective move. Rillaboom grit his teeth in pain, only to yelp when he felt the poison hurt him more. Suddenly he looked up and stared at Aurorus's eyes. "Endeavor!" Rillaboom shot another tendril out, having been protected by the frozen ones, and struck Aurorus in the chest. Immediately, he felt his strength weaken, his body now just as weak as Rillaboom's.

"What was that!?" Ash widened his eyes. Cynthia grit her teeth. "Endeavor, if your Pokémon gets hit by it, its health will be the same as the one using it." Ash looked down with a shocked expression. Leon allowed Rillaboom to get hit so much in order for this exact moment. Aurorus, who usually has high health, stumbled along the ground. "Keep it up Rillaboom! High Horsepower!" Rillaboom set his drums to the side, rushing forward and tearing apart the ground to hit Aurorus head on. "Aurorus! Please use Blizzard again!" Aurorus glared, shooting another cold wave of air towards Rillaboom. The grass monkey stumbled but kept going shooting through the Blizzard before connecting Aurorus in the chest. Both Pokémon stumbled back staring at each other for a moment before falling down unconscious.

"Both Pokemon are unable to battle! This match is a draw!" The announcer yelled, both trainers returning and giving thanks to their friends. The battle of dragons was next, with Leon releasing Dragapult and Diantha releasing Tyrantrum. Dragapult gave a cheeky grin to Tyrantrum, who returned with a dominant glare. "Dragapult! Get above him and use Dragon Breath!" Leon called out, the ghost dragon shooting forward and blasting Tyrantrum with a super effective move. "Use Crunch and get him!" Tyrantrum reached up, snapping at Dragapult but missing entirely. Dragapult zoomed around, smirking and giggling loudly. This infuriated the prideful ancient king, getting in close with a Dragon Claw after Diantha called it out. Dragapult simply dodged again, shooting a Flamethrower on his back. "He's too fast...." Diantha bit her lip, trying to think of a strategy.

Once Dragapult flew around again, this time shooting a Dragon Breath into Tyrantrum's face, Diantha smirked. "Earthquake with all you got!" Diantha yelled. Tyrantrum roared as he slammed his foot down, causing the ground and stadium to shake violently. Jagged and massive rocks shot up, blocking Dragapult for a split second. This allowed Tyrantrum to break through some rocks and slam his jaws down on the ghost dragon for a devastating Crunch attack. He threw the pokemon down onto the ground, rushing to use a Dragon Claw, but Dragapult managed to sneak away in time. Thanks to his clear body, his defenses were not lowered by the Crunch. What he was, however, was injured thanks to the Crunch.

"Dragapult, fly around and barrage!" Dragapult nodded, fully serious as the pokemon zoomed around Tyrantrum with blinding speeds. The dragon rock pokemon widened his eyes, looking around and trying to catch the ghost. He began to feel a barrage of attacks on his body, Flamethrowers to Dragon Breaths, Shadow Balls to Thunderbolts. He roared out, chomping his jaws around in anger. "Use Earthquake again! Full power!" Tyrantrum raised his foot up to slam into the ground, only for Dragapult to suddenly appear below him. Firing a full power Dragon Breath directly into his gut. Tyrantrum roared out in pain, tumbling back as Dragapult kept up the assault, continuing to use its attack. Once it was done, Tyrantrum was unconcious. "Tyrantrum is unable to battle! The winner is Dragapult!" Diantha returned Tyrnatrum, smiling and kissing the pokeball in thanks. "Go Gourgeist!" The pumpkin Pokémon happily yelled out, waving her large arms out in anticipation.

"Gourgeist! Use Shadow Sneak!" Diantha called out. Gourgeist seemed to melt into the ground, its shadow slithering on the ground and heading directly towards Dragapult. "Dodge and unleash a Flamethrower when it appears!" Leon yelled. The dragon ghost type flew up, his mouth flickering with flames and ready to spew the moment Gourgeist appeared. Soon enough, the Pokemon appeared, but happily waved before falling back down into the shadows just before the Flamethrower hit. Gourgeist would continue this, appearing to different spots of the battlefield, just barely dodging the effective fire attacks. Dragapult growled and roared out angrily. "Forget it Dragapult! Use Shadow Ball the moment it appears!" Dragapult nodded, forming a ball of ghost type energy and scanning the area around it. Gourgeist appeared under him, Dragapult immediately firing the attack. "Counter with Seed Bomb!" Gourgest hurled her head back before firing a volley of large seeds, dismantling the Shadow Ball. "Phantom Force!" Gourgest yelled out her name as a veil of ghost energy coated her, slamming her body into Dragapult's body. The dragon ghost roared as he fell towards the ground, unconscious.

"Dragapult is unable to battle! Gourgeist is the winner!" As Leone returned his Pokémon, he looked around. The crowd was cheering and screaming out at such an amazing battle. Gourgeist was bouncing around happily at her victory. Diantha was staring at him, giving a satisfied smile at her victory. Leon couldn't help but smile too. He grabbed a Pokeball, his closest friend, and unleashed it. The crowds cheers went ballstic when Charizard was revealed. Diantha's smile fell as she took a serious expression. "Begin!" Before Diantha can give a command, Leone called out. "Fire Blast!" Charizard reared his head back, firing a star shaped projectile that slammed into Gourgeist. The flames died down to reveal the ghost grass type was completely unconscious. Diantha widened her eyes; her Pokémon fell from just one hit....

Diantha released her next pokemon, Goodra. Once it was called out, both trainers yelled out. "Fire Blast!" Both burning stars shot out, slamming into each other and spewing a ball of inferno. Charizard shot through the flames, staring at Goodra in her eyes. "Air Slash!" Charizard raised his claws and struck Goodra in the belly with the flying type attack, making Goodra stumble back. "Use Muddy Water!" Goodra reared her head back and shot a brown ball of water towards Charizard, but the fire flying type dodged at the last second. "Fire Blast again!" Charizard torched Goodra with the burning star, making the dragon type wince from the pain. Suddenly she roared out as the affliction known as burn began to damage her. "Dragon Pulse! Get him away from you!" Goodra grit her teeth, firing the beam of dragonic energy towards Charizard. "Fly away!" Charizard raised his wings and shot up, dodging the incoming beam attack. "Hit her with an Ancient Power!" Charizard roared before raising his hands, large stones from Tyrantrums earthquake raised up and shot down at Goodra. The dragon type tried to counter with the Dragon Pulse but was still hit by a few stones. Charizard roared out as the side effect of the move began to boost his power.

"Strike with an Air Slash!" Leon yelled, Charizard using his claws to shoot out the wind like projectiles. "Counter with Dragon Pulse!" Goodra shot back, destroying the projectiles. "Fly down! Fire Blast!" Charizard shot down, heading directly towards Goodra. Once a few feet in front of her, he fired a far more powerful attack into her face. Goodra slowly stepped back, covered in burns and wounds. She tried to step up, but one more burn damage made her fall down in front of her. "Goodra is unable to battle! The winner is Charizard." Diantha silently returned Goodra, giving thanks before taking a deep breath.

Her chances of winning were far gone now. She was down to her last pokemon and Leone still had a team of four left. Still, she didn't let that look of shining determination leave her eyes. If she was going to lose, she was going to give the audience a show! "Come on out my friend!" Diantha threw her last pokeball, Gardevoir soon appearing. "Lets show them our bond!" Diantha held her arm up, her Mega Ring activating. A rainbow light casts around Gardevoir, soon shattering to show her Mega Evolved state. "Going big leagues huh? Let me show you what we can really do!" Leon raised his pokeball, returning Charizard as pink energy surrounded the pokeball. It began to increase in size before it was larger than Leon's entire head. "Dynamax Go!" The ball erupted, revealing the enormous, flame coated Charizard. "Begin!"

"Barrage with Moonblast and Shadow Ball!" Diantha yelled out. Mega Gardevoir raised her hands, forming multiple balls of fairy and ghost type energy. She threw her hands forward, sending the volley directly towards Charizard. The Dynamax Charizard simply took the attack, only grunting in pain. "Thunderbolt full power!" Gardevoir called her name out, shooting the most powerful Thunderbolt she could. Again, Charizard took it, growling as he hid the effective pain. "Let's end this, Diantha! G-Max Wildfire!" The flames around Charizards body began to erupt as Charizard reared his head back. Unleashing an enormous torrent of flames, the stadium felt the intense heat as it headed directly towards Gardevoir. Diantha smirked. "Catch it with Psychic!" Gardevoir's eyes began to glow a light blue before throwing her arms up. A light blue glow began to cover the attack, redirecting it and spreading it across the arena. Leone widened his eyes at the maneuver, nothing like this ever been done to him before. "Take your attack back Leon!" With a strained yell, Gardevoir threw her arms out again, shooting the wall of fire directly towards G-Max Charizard. Charizard widened his eyes, being engulfed by the attack.

As the massive fiery explosion coated the dragon, Gardevoir nearly fell to one knee as she panted heavily. Holding back such a powerful move strained her body. She could only watch with nervousness as the eruption died down, showing a royally angered Charizard. Leone would call for another G-Max Wildfire, but he knew that Gardevoir was done for. "Full Power Fire Blast!" Charizard threw his head back and forward, shooting a star like flame projectile directly towards Gardevoir. "Catch it!" Diantha called, but her eyes widened in fear as Gardevoir tried and failed to hold the attack back. Gardevoir could only smile at the dragon as she was engulfed by the attack. When the flames died, Gardevoir was face down, unconscious. The crowd cheered at such an amazing battle. Diantha walked over, helping her oldest friend up, but looked in surprise when Leon held his hand out to her. He smiled brightly, with a now normal Charizard behind him. "Diantha...you did great." Diantha sighed but smiled back. "I can say the same Leone, thank you for this battle." And so, they shook hands, the first half of the semi-finals has come to a close....
