A Horse's Rebellion

Rosie was a very quiet mare, and only her closest friends, Illusion and Fern, knew who she really was. She never intended on joining in the rebellion, it just happened. All of her fiends joined, almost her whole herd joined. So Rosie did as well.

It started on a rainy afternoon, the lead stallion, Storm, was ushering everyone into a cave to escape the impending thunderstorm he claimed her smelled on the winds. The lead and mare and several others, however, had not smelled the thunderstorm, and were attempting to tell Storm that.

"Storm, there is only rain, no need to go into hiding." Sun, a palomino mare said.

"I can smell the storm as well as you! I can smell the lightning!" Storm said rearing up.

"She speaks the truth, dear." Lightning, the appaloosa lead mare said, trying to calm him down.

"IT IS A THUNDERSTORM, HOW DARE YOU DISOBEY YOUR LEADER!" Storm said rearing, and coming down on Lightnings head with his front hooves. Lightning fell limply down. Our herd gasped and ran up to her, our medicine mare not far behind.

"Lightning! Wake up!" Whinnied Wren, a grey dun and Lightnings best friend. Storm just stood in the background looking disgusted. That was when something started to happen. I heard a loud whinny belonging to a mare.

"You. How dare YOU!" Wren had become furious, and reared up. "You killed a horse, not to mention, YOUR MATE, for NO GOOD REASON!"

"It was too for GOOD REASON!" Storm retorted. "She was disobeying her LEADER, or perhaps you've forgotten." He added.

"She is her own leader, and the LEAD MARE, or have you forgotten?" Wren added at the end sweetly, fire burning in her eyes. Storm looked unsure for a moment before resuming his leader stance and firing back at Wren.

"Well now we need a new one. Wren would you-" he started

"WHI DO YOU TAKE ME AS?! A FOOL HORSE?" Wren shouted furiously. She turned to us, the rest of the herd. "How have stood with HIM as our leader for all these moons? What are we? Worthless bits of acorns? Fool horses? I say we fight back. We need a new leader. Joined together, we can get one. Who's with me?" Wren shouted to us. Suddenly, Storm reared up again and killed Wren. Wren's limp body fell to the dusty ground, rising a billow of dust. A gasp came from us, than Sun, and another voice from the back rose up.

"I say we join her. I say we continue her legacy. Who's with us?" The two said, and most of the herd agreed. I stayed quiet. I didn't want to get in trouble. My friends beside me reared up and whinnied their approval. The whole herd seemed to.

"Anyone who has a right mind, come over and stand with me." Storm bellowed from his side. Many other fond supporters of Storm trod over, and I began to slide over, but I couldn't go to his side, nor could I stay on Sun's side.

"Come on, Rosie!" My fiends called.

"Over here, Rosie. You know I'm the true leader." Storm called.

"I can't choose. I think both of you are wrong." I said quietly.

"Than join the rebellion. We will at least listen to your ideas." Sun called.

"Oh come on! I also listen to ideas!" Storm called. And suddenly, I knew which side to be on. I stepped toward Storm. He raised his head proudly.

"I'm sorry. But I am joining the rebellion." I said bowing my head to Storm. I turned and trod back to the side with my friends. I could feel Storm's eyes boring into the back on my head. I ignored it. My friends and fellow supporters whooped with joy. Sun turned and beckoned for us to follow her. We cantered off in the opposite direction from where Storm stood. And you know what? We just kept running knowing one day, we'd be back.......

What do you guys think? Should I do a part two?
