    My name is Alyssa Mack. You probably don't know me, or only have heard of me because of my condition. I cannot leave my house, or I literally have to wear a hazmat suit. Trust me, it's hard to feel normal outside when I'm wearing that. I just prefer to stay inside. I have a disease, I was born with it. It's very contagious to those who weren't born with it. I can see my family,they were born with the molecules. Here, let me explain. I have a disease I like to call,'Alyssa Disease' because I'm the first one to have it. No one knows what 'it' is, just that it's contagious. I have infected twelve people, eight have died, the other four are dying. It's really deadly,but not to me. If you were born with it, you are immune from 'getting' it. It's really difficult to explain. So, I got a double dose of 'it'. Dad and Mom had it, had my my big brother Jayk, then had me. My parents didn't know they had it, mainly because it wasn't even a thing. Then,there was me. Initially, my genetics are just crappy. I have like, extra genes or something that manifested themselves to take the disease from my mom and join it with my dad's, so it was a clump. A big, colossal clump, so I got the disease.I know, I know. It's confusing, and I'm not the greatest explainer. Whatever.

Today was really uneventful as usual. I don't get to go to school, but I do an online class. You would think I'd be a depressed, lonely, sad, introverted person. I'm actually the opposite of that! New technology has let me be a really happy extrovert😊! I have two BFF's that are in my class, Jemi and Brooke. "Alyssa, I'm home!" I heard someone call. "JAYKKK!!!" I screamed, sprinting down the stairs to my brother. He smiled at me, tossed his backpack on the couch, and handing me a small package. "Here." He said, and I eagerly opened it. It was slightly heavy,and felt thin, but firm. It was a laptop!"Aw..thank you, Jayk! How'd you get the money, though?" I asked. "My new job." He said, proudly. Sometimes I get jealous at how Jayk can do anything. He can go out while looking normal, get a cool job,hang out with friends. I'm all stuck at home. "Jayk, honey, stamp your feet on the mat before you walk in!"Mom scolded him. I'm not all alone. My mom quit her job as a nurse(which she loved, by the way. Another reason my disease is a burden.) to stay home with me. It fits that she was a nurse, she's all 'motherly' and tender. Dad owns a big business, but he's not that work first, family later kind of father. He loves us all. I guess you could say we're a big happy family. Until my disease comes in the way. Like I said, the world is now just discovering this disease. So, we figured out that you must have been born with it not to die from it, and it has all sort of effects on the 'host'. In my case, I'm a 'host'. Which basically means, it's feeding off of me, trying to infect others, spreading itself. I get sick really easily, have to take medicines every day, go to the hospital a lot, get examined, and other things that are annoying. I'm okay with everything, though. It's been fourteen years, so I'm okay with it. I just wish I had the chance to live a normal life.

Today is a first day of April, which means I have to go to the hospital today. Whoo-hoo. It started off okay, I helped Mom pack my things(I have to stay there for almost two months!) and got in the car. I go to a special hospital that specializes in figuring out rare or new diseases. The reason I have to stay for so long is because I have to get special treatments I can't take at home, and all of my research. "Alyssa, I'll see you soon. We'll visit, I swear." Jayk whispered.
