To Learn The Truth
Your name is Alexandre Scarlet. A straight-A student. You have blonde hair and are underestimated and thought of as 'dumb'. Your father abandoned you on your 10 years ago. Right now you are 16 turning 17. You dislike being stereotyped. Your mother died in a car accident. You live with your step mother named Maria Scarlet and she abuses you and is also never sober.
---
"Mom? Mom? Mom?" You asked repeatedly, constantly looking at your beautiful mother at the driver seat. Past her was the car window that miraged the rapidly passing trees. Soft water droplets condense on the glass.
"Yes, Alex?" She responded, she looked at you with sad eyes, large visible bags appeared beneath her eyes. All of a sudden, a heavy object dropped into the car view. It made a large thud as it landed which frightened your mother, and made her swerve to the left as if she was trying to dodge a bullet. Your head jolted to the left at the sudden curve. There was another thud, but this time louder and more alarming. The car alarm was set off, lights constantly flashed from the front of the silver mercedes. The driver's door was already broken off, and you saw your mother there, kneeling on the ground, a puddle of blood creeping out from under her and soaking into the dark pavement. You closed your eyes wishing this was all a dream.
"Baby, are you okay?" Your mother called out in a worried voice, sounding as if she was lost. You attempted to respond, yet no noise came from your mouth, you started to hear light sobbing and prayer that you, her daughter would've lived instead of her. Mustering up all your strength, you opened your mouth, reassuring your mother with a groggy voice. You turn your head and spat out the metallic crimson liquid in your mouth. You heard your mother sigh in relief, before a ear-piercing shriek echoed through the night. You snapped your head to the direction you saw your mother last, but all you saw was a monstrous figure standing there, its beady red eyes glaring right into your soul.
You jolted awake, and gasped for air as you sat up straight. Tears streamed down you face as you covered your eyes, wishing those nightmares would just disappear. It was always the same every year for the past eight years.
On your birthday which is today, a strong stream of emotions would flood through your system and tear you apart inside out. It was the day your mother died. Unclear visions kept replaying, it changes every time though. Sometimes they'd be unrealistic like a earthquake splitting the ground and you and your mother were absorb, or you two hit a deer. This time though, it felt too realistic. You exhaled in an attempt to calm yourself down. You let out a soft agonizing howl, hiccups erupted from your throat, as your nose turned red and stuffy.
The door to your room swung open and your mother stepped in. Her face glared at you in a peeved matter. "Shut the hell up or I'll make you..." She threatened me before turning around and storming off.
You wept more at her outburst. Life was never fair for you, and eventually you learned to accept it. You bit onto your blanket and dug your nail into your skin to stop the emotions from drowning you into its bottomless abyss. Hours passed and slowly your depression subsided. You looked outside, past the closed wooden blind was the beautiful blood moon. Past the windows, the shimmering moonlight peeked through, it shone its light onto your night blue covers. You lifted a book from the nightstand to your right. It's cardboard texture greeted you, as you flipped through, and stopped at the book mark. You started to read, your own emotions slowly disappearing, replaced by the character's. The clear description of the story played images into your mind. The anonymous author created a book that expresses all sorts of genres, it was unknowingly related a bit to your own life. At the last ten pages, the story had grown on you, it had a deep sense of importance when you held it within your hands. You turned the page as your eyes reached the end of the next page.
"He stood in front of me with the bloody dagger in his claws. He bore holes into my eyes with his own dark demented ones. I could only imagine him as the monster that would hide in my closet when I was a little girl, he was clearly not my-" You eagerly flipped to the next page, but you were confronted with a blank page. You skipped the next few pages hoping to find the end of the uncompleted sentence. You continuously turned pages only to find they were all blank, there was nothing. When you reached the last page, craved inside the back cover, words made with a bold crimson colour that matched the colour of the moon, read the words "Can you find the real truth?" And then you were absorbed into the empty pages.

Your vision emerged from a void, white star-like dots slowly faded from sight. You pulled yourself up, pebbles shifted from beneath your feet. You gaze at your foreign surrounding. The area was clouded with tall pine trees, the ground beneath you was only a bare flat rock with miniature version of itself plastered on top. You rub your eyes hoping it was just a dream, but it wasn't. You harmed yourself with a pinch, but the pain exploded through your arm, and you knew that you weren't in La-la land. You ran your hand through your hair and clicked your tongue in irritation. You let out a long expastersted sigh, wind gushed through your hair bringing along stray crippled leaves. You dusted stray debris off your gray sweatpants, a sandstorm stirred up upon your actions. You stretched your cramped arms and yawned; the bright yellow ball high in it's summit.
"Alex.." A wispy feminine voice called as if it were their throat was wounded. Your ears perked up as you tried to pinpoint the owner. "Alex" the voice called again, this time more sturdy, you followed cry.
You stopped when you reached a thickets of gorse bushes, its bright golden flowers in bloom. Deep inside the barricade, you could spot a greyish white object, it was glossy and reflected the morning light. Filled with curiosity, you push aside the stems to reveal a large egg. You reached our your hand, and grazed the warm she'll with your fingertips, a compelling fluorescent aura radiated off it. A faint glow emerged from the depts of the cool grey oval. The light gradually grew stronger and bolder, it consumed the whole structure with a blinding luminescence.
_Run away from egg, never to see it again, go to page_ 1.
_Wait to see what's inside, go to page_ 2.
( Backstory ish: The months after that, your father remarried to a nice lady named Maria, but she wasn't as sensitive like your real mother. Then the next year, on your birthday he left the both of you. He abandoned you, his wife, his family, it was as if you had been erased from his life. Maria decided to take it all on you. She drank too much alcohol that night and turned into a full on alcoholic, drinking all day long and abusing you all night long. You honestly could not blame her. She wanted to abuse you just to get a reaction out of my father. He kept turning a blind eye. Your step-mom was too stubborn and kept abusing you for all those years. You would lie to everyone who asked about the scars and bruises over your body but you would just reply with the same excuse of "I ran into a door"
