Study Date

This is another train story.

Dana Jowski wanders around aimlessly, not knowing what to do. She was alone at lunch because she had no friends really. She talked to people in her classes but never really talked to anyone outside of class. However, she wasn't expecting what happened next.

"Hey, Dana, right?" The voice came from behind her. She turned to look and almost yelped. Her crush, Joel Branley, was standing right there. He was by no means popular but he had a good friend group and had never actually talked to her outside of their Geometry class.

"H-hey, Joel," Dana blushed.

"Do you want to help me study for the test tonight?" He asked her. Dana's mind was racing at the thought of it. Alone time with her crush. However the night was far from perfect.

Dana had bought snacks for them to eat for studying. She dug through her closet deciding if she should change or just stay casual. Dana wasn't much of a dress person but she did have a few mostly used for church events. She decided she didn't wanna go over the top. She only spritzed a bit of her favorite perfume on left to go study with Joel.

As they began to study, Dana noticed that Joel was surprisingly close to her, and he seemed to get closer with every passing math problem.

This is so awesome! Dana thought to herself. This is way better than I ever could have imagined it!

Joel started to speak again, but this was certainly no math problem. "Hey, have I ever told you..." The rest faded. Dana was totally entranced. She kinda rested her chin on her palm and was in complete auto-pilot. She gave a few "Uh-huhs," and, "yeahs" every now and then.

"And I was wondering if you could, I don't know, come with me?" Joel glanced at Dana, breaking her trance. She had no idea what he was talking about! What was she supposed to say? "Umm...sure" she replied in a half confused half confident tone. Joel took her out to his car parked out in the driveway.

After driving in silence for a minute, Dana noticed that Joel was getting more tense.

Soon, they came to a cabin with brightly lit windows. Joel turned to her and smiled. "Thanks again for pretending to be my girlfriend at my brother's birthday party. I really didn't want to lose the bet I made with him."

Oh boy.
