Power

Look, I love my country. I'm Sudanese and I am proud of it. I enjoy all the festivals, I love the music/urging to get married that happens around the dinner table, and most of all, I love my family. To all my cousins, aunts, uncles, bahibakum shadeed!

But there is one thing about my country thar I do not like, well, its a couple, but I'll touch on the bigger topic here.

Power.

All of us need it in our everyday lives. It is essential, weather we admit it or not. But there is one thing that all Sudanese people with access to electricity don't take for granted, and thats electricity.

No, I rake that back. They flat put dont care. If the electricity cuts off in the U.S or U.K or K.S.A, the people panic and run all along. Here, its no problem. If someone is sleeping, they keep on doing so. They're used to it.

But its kinda funny how in every country of this world
The Sudanese government is full of ducks and asshats. If they caught me saying that 18 years ago, I'll have  probably been arrested. The thing is, they insist we use too much electricity, and cut it off randomly, to save it. That's what happened just now. Me and my brother have an important physics tuition followed directly by an I.T. one (by the time this is published they are probably over) and guess what happened?!

THE FREAKIN POWER GOES OUT

THE STREET LIGHTS WENT OUT

AND A CAR ACCIDENT HAPPENED BECAUSE OF THE LOSS OF LIGHTS, AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT!!!!!

AND MY MOM IS PANICKING BECAUSE WE HAVE TO BE AT MY AUNT'S HOUSE BECAUSE OF OUR LESSON(well, not really panicking, just hurryupcalleverysinglerelativewitthina20mileradiustocheckiftheystillhavepowerpanicking)
*sighs* Well, at least me and my little bro have our phones charged to provide a flashlight-

*brother tells me his phone is at 7 percent*

AM I THE ONLY ONE THAT ACTUALLY GIVES A SH-

That was probably too harsh, but in The Sudan, you could never be too careful. In Saudi Arabia, where the power goes put once every millennia(at least a wide one), you can.

I have to stop writing now, we are Aunts house..

Well, its an hour later and the power has still not come back. The amazing little sister of mine keeps on saying 'Do you know de wae?', making me regret showing her the meme and making my brother regret he ever explained it to me. My cousins, who don't know much English, are just staring at her curiously. My teacher has still not come.

But honestly, drinking tea under the visible stars outside is amazing. We kept on laughing and sharing stories. I honestly, don't mind the electricity being so much gone now.

*gets news that the electricity is cutting off from 10:00AM to 5:00PM*

FUUUUUUUU-
