Of Long Hours, School PTSD, and Long Bells

I SURVIVED

And now that I am back from school, I feel a tad bit better than I did before :D. Aside from the fact that I have 2 homeworks, and I didn't even get my fucking books yet.

But people weren't kidding when they said Grade 11 was a nightmare...

It started with Chemistry. The teacher who teaches me, Mrs.Maha it is an old friend of my mother's, and she gave me tuition over the summer. Anyway, she gave us some notes on Moles, something that, when I did for the first time, destroyed the passion I had for the subject previously.

Second came Biology. One of my favourate subjects, though it is sometimes tiring and needs a lot of memorization along with studying. The teacher who teaches Bio, Mrs.Nazia, is a really funny teacher. When I was back in the 8th grade and she first taught me, she sparked my love for the subject. She lectured us in the AS level, what are we going to do, and what her plans are for the future 5 months till the mocks.

The class that came after that was Second Language.

This one came as a suprise. Second Language was supposed to be discontinued in Grade 10 and replaced with Arabic Language for the entire classroom. It didn't make as much of a difference to me, since I was Sudanese and required by the Ministry to take Arabic as long as I am in school. (I think, but the Arabic thing is something for another chapter). Anyhoo, the French Teacher came in along with the Urdu one, and I have never, EVER, seen my asian and paki friends look so disappointed.

The Arabic teacher is called Mrs.Arwa. I never liked Mrs.Arwa in the 2, now apperantly 3, years she taught me. Grades 8, 10, and now 11.

She is a middle, maybe senior aged Palestinian woman, mother of 5 children who are all in collage. The main problem with her is the fact that she doesn't know how to speak English, and is thus kinda hard to talk to. But she is a nice woman, so I guess she is alright.

And I am not saying this because she is the only one who gave us a free class all day.

Break was next, and I spent it reconciling with my classmates and friends from other classes.

After break was English. My favourite class with my favourate teacher of all time, Mrs.D.

Mrs.D taught me English since I was in the 5th grade, and has been for the past *counts back* 6 years with the exception of half of 7th grade.

Its kinda hard to describe her actually...Any of you watch Zack and Cody as kids?

She is the female version of Mr.Moseby.

SHE EVEN HAS THAT SAME TONE!

She also helped me expand my horizons when it came to reading and writing. We have book debates all the time too. Its fun! =D

Since one of us was doing S.A.Ts, she gave us a lesson on Figures of Speech. I was fimilar with a few of them, but not some others. It was still a good lesson, though we had a debate on the pronunciation of the word 'sarcasm' for a good 5 minutes. All in all, it was a good lesson.

Physics was next. This part is a bit awkward to write since the teacher, Mrs.Sarita, is right behind me and I am on the bus. Apperantly, she shifted houses recently and will be living near to where I am.

She did the same thing Mrs.Nazia did, introduce us to the subject before recapping on Measurements from last year.

But for some reason, I found it hard to stay awake. Me and Physics have that kind of relationship. I always find it hard to keep my eyes open during it....

Most of my teachers and I go long back. That includes Mrs.Sarita. She taught me Science briefly and Physics in grades 7-9. And now she is back! I have to admit though, compared with the disaster called Mrs.Lenny.

It was Mathematics next with Mrs.Nighat. It waa the first lesson and I am already lost in the x's and y's of graphs and intersecting lines. *sigh* I knew her for a while too.

Next was the 1/2 break then Mrs.Rita and Islamic Studies. The class was quiet, as it always is when Mrs.Rita is in the classroom. She ia probably the most strict teacher I ever had. *shudders*

We had Math the last period, and Mrs.Nighat made us do exercises. Thankfully we were let to go to our buses 20 minutes later.

Anyway, this is how my day went! XD

I don't look forward to starting Social Studies again after a 2 year break, but honestly, its not my choice. *Sigh....*

Well, At least it can't get worse-

Fuck.
