Edward's eyes snapped open as a white ceiling was seen above him. The last thing he remembered was Al screaming his name.

Al.

NO!!!!!

He attempted to get off the bed, only to be shocked that where his arm and leg were empty spaces.

This....THIS CAN'T BE!!!

His golden eyes widened in horror.

Did we....fail?

His eyes fell on the metal suit of armour, that now contained his brother's soul. He bit his lip to stop crying.

"HE'S AWAKE!!!!!"

"EDWARD!"
"ED!"
"EDDIE!!!!"
"SHORT-STACK!!!!"

He knew those voices.

No....James....Peter....Sirius..Remus....they can't be here....THEY CAN'T SEE ME LIKE THIS!!!!

But it was too late. James had barreled in, and froze open mouthed at the sight of Edward on the hospital bed.

The blue 'get well soon!!!' bag he had in his hands (probably full of comic books and various candy products ) dropped in the floor with a dull thud.

"What the bloody hell are you doing pausing at the door like this?!" Sirius asked, as he had bumped into James from behind. He pushed him inside the room, as he came inside followed by Peter and Remus, who was rolling his eyes.

But their expressions all mirrored James's as soon as they saw the sunken eyed Edward, missing a leg and an arm.

"Edward...." James said slowly. "W-what did you do?"

Edward looked up at them, a smile on his face. But that smile was bitter. Shattered. Broken. It wasn't the normal Edward Elric smile, the one that reached his eyes.

There was a doubt of that smile ever appearing again.

"Hey guys....." Edward said, his voice shaking. "As you can see....I screwed up..."

That's all he was able to say, before the darkness claimed him again.

A/N: soooooo.....the idea of sitting in bed at 1:17 AM reading Maradurer headcannons sparked the old idea of a FullMetal Alchemist and HP(Maradurer's era) Crossover in my mind and it got turned into this drabble/preview. So...the story behind this drabble is that Edward and Alphonse attempted to resurrect their mother after Edward finished his 2nd year at Hogwarts. As his magical caretaker, McGonagall was called to St.Mungo's, where he got put into after the transmutation failed. She felt it was necessary to have his(Edward's) best friends by his side during recovery, so they got called to St.Mungo's. They were all told that Edward got injured in a accident at home and came to visit him.
