My friend made such a big deal that I was talking about hazbin to a friend that wasn't even him 💀

Here's how it went down. Friend 1 watches Hazbin, like me, and Friend 2 doesn't.

Friend 1: Pulls out rubber duck
Me: cool.
Friend 1: (gasp) I should make this a Lucifer duck!
Me: (suddenly interested) yeah that's a cool idea
Friend 2: isn't that like...Satan?
Me: yeah but it's from that show, so it's not really that.
Friend 1: yeah.
Friend 2: well you should stop talking about it. Bye.
Me: what??

Yeah I'm not sure what his deal was. I wasn't even talking to him, just around him, until he mentioned something about it.

But if I say I'm not interested in hearing about his hyperfixations and hobbies, the tables have suddenly turned and now I'm rude.

I even try my best to not bring it up without the friend that watches Hazbin because I know my other friends don't like it that much.

I know this might be an unpopular opinion, but I feel like if your friend has a hyperfixation, you should hear them out on it. Even if it's the most boring trash you've ever heard of, at least pretend to listen to them and engage a little. It makes a difference.

But obviously if I'm talking to one person about it and not them, why is he making such a big deal?

I don't give a shit what you watch, whether that be Hazbin or the Owl House or Heartstopper, I don't care. But please don't set fire to my hyperfixations like that.
