Story idea
Ok, so I don't remember exactly how I got this idea, but I did, and I don't know what I should do with it. (In my opinion,) It would make a really cool story, but I have to figure out a few details first before things will make sense. But anyway, here's my "prologue" idea thing.

Beep beep beep beep...
Miko woke up and turned off the alarm. She stretched as she got out of bed, and then she went to her closet and picked out her usual outfit. Just a normal school day. Everything's fine, everything's normal, everything's...boring. Out of the corner of her eye, she thought she saw a hovering thing making her bed, but she didn't pay much attention to it.
As she descended the stairs to the main level, she heard her host parents already in the kitchen. She quickly grabbed some breakfast bars and started to head out the door when her host mom called out. "Miko, don't forget that after school, Henry and I will be picking you up. We're getting our pictures taken, remember?"
Miko moaned. Already? Why pictures? She hated having to get pictures taken of her. The photographers always take forever, looking for the "perfect angle" for the "perfect shot", but there never is one. "Don't forget your key. And we have to leave immediately after school gets out, so you won't have time to see the Autobots today. Sorry," her host dad said.
Miko headed to the hall table and picked up a strangely large key on a lanyard. She shoved the key in her pocket and hurriedly gathered her things. What was up with the huge key? Did her host parents change the locks, and the keys were really big? As she wondered, the words her host dad said finally started to sink in.
"Wait, what?! How do you know about the Autobots?!?"
~~~
Sari turned on her mattress. She knew it was getting close to time to go to school, but she didn't want to get up just yet. She was dreaming about the very first time she met the Autobots and when her key brought Optimus back to life. Absentmindedly, she reached for the key. To her surprise, it was gone!
The key! She bolted upright. Where was it? She always wore it around her neck, so how could it have disappeared? She frantically searched the room, looking for any sign of the key. Then she gasped. What if the Decepticons stole it? "Dad!"
She ran out of her room, tripping and falling over a robotic dog in the process. "Sparkplug! You naughty dog, did you take my key?" No response. She sat up and touched the machine. "Sparkplug?" Her eyes fell on a crudely-made remote control, and she picked it up. "What in the world? Why do you have a remote?"
She quickly stood up and ran to the kitchen, then gasped. This wasn't right. Her key was missing, Sparkplug was a remote controlled toy, and now her house wasn't even her house! She hurried over to a window, expecting to see the skyscrapers and busy streets of Detroit, but all she saw was dry desert, several mesas, a few grass clumps here and there, and some cacti. "DAAAAAAAAAD!!!"
"Yes, Sari?" Her father walked in from another room, holding a cup of coffee. "What's the matter? You called for me." Sari turned to look at her dad, and immediately ran to his arms. "Dad, where are we? What happened to my key, a-and Sparkplug? Please tell me this is just a dream." Tears were beginning to form in her eyes. Mr. Sumdac looked at her in confusion.
"What do you mean? This is our home, and Sparkplug is just fine. See?" He picked up the robot and handed it to her. "I'm sure the remote just needs new batteries." He turned to a side table against a wall, opened a drawer, and pulled out a small key. "And here is your key. Don't you remember? You always put it in here when you come home." Sari held her hand out and took the key.
But she wasn't done yet. "But dad, why are we out in the middle of nowhere? What happened to Detroit?" Mr. Sumdac looked surprised. "Detroit? I haven't been there for a long time. We moved here when you were very young. Do you not recognize your own home? Is something wrong?"
Sari slowly shook her head. "Uhh...no, not really...um...I'd, uh, better get to school, hadn't I?" Mr. Sumdac gave her a hug and patted her on the head, and she began backing away from him, hoping to avoid any more questions on the subject. "Yes, and you had better hurry. Remember, you have that test you've been studying for."
Sari froze in her tracks. "Test?!?"
~~~~~~~
I know Miko's POV is so short, but apparently my brain thinks that I did a good enough job on it that it doesn't need changed or added to, so it wouldn't let me make it longer. XD
And I just now had another thought. Should it be Sari and Frankie? Cuz somehow that seems like it would work better. Idk. Right now, I'll run with the Sari and Miko version, cuz that's what's trying to come out, but knowing me, I'll probably end up writing a Sari and Frankie version also. 😁
And I welcome any constructive criticism or suggestions, so if you see something that you think doesn't fit or could be done differently, in this or any of my other stories, don't hesitate to let me know! Any ideas/critiques can help me improve my writing.
Thanks!
Byeee!
