Raven: Raven was born into a family of thieves. His mother and father were both on the run at all times, so they never truly had a home. Since they were criminals, they never were the nicest to each other or their child. In their eyes, Raven always got in the way. Before they would set out to find something valuable, his mother would always give him a harsh beating and tell him to stay put or the same thing would happen when she got back. His mother would use her temper against her own son - when she got angry, she would use him to calm herself down. Raven never understood how she calmed down by hurting her own child, but he knew he couldn't have said anything about it. Even when he begged his father - who had the authority over his wife - to make her stop, the older male would just stand by and watch them. After his mother hurt him to a point where he had to be rushed to the hospital (the wound on his stomach), Raven developed a fear of his parents, and never wanted to have anything to do with stealing, even when his parents forced him to. When Raven was sixteen, he ran away after one of his mother's usual beatings. His parents were out stealing things, so he had the perfect opportunity. He was taught to be sneaky, and his parents never once caught him - though they did find him and put up a chase. He had been very close to going back to them when he stumbled across a martial artist teacher's home. The teacher, a large wolf, was home at the time and confronted Raven's parents, who were later taken to jail. The wolf, named Hageshi (fierce in Japanese), told him that he would take Raven in and teach him how to fight, in case his parents came back to get him. Raven worked under Hageshi until he was eighteen, when he became a master and gained his own apprentice - Lynn. He trained her for a year and a half before finding out that he was in love with the young cougar.

Lynn: Lynn lived a normal life. She had loving parents, good wealth, and a nice home. She was very sweet and had many friends. When she was eleven, her twin brother got into a fight at school and broke his wrist. Lynn had only stood aside and watched it all, so she swore to herself that she would learn to fight so she could stand up for others. When she sixteen, the sheriff, Mao Mao, came into Pure Heart Valley and inspired her even more. She waited until she was eighteen under a rule from her parents, then signed up to train in martial arts. She gained her new master, a fox named Raven, and almost immediately wanted to be like him. Fierce, brave, skilled, and determined. She wished with all her heart that someday she would be a hero like Mao Mao. After a year of training under Raven, she gained deep feelings for him.
