Verses to Laundry

Verses to Laundry

Water falls
cascading
murmuring
pouring down concave walls

soothing the sound
in the bottom so many colors
swirling in a pristine whirlpool
round and round

silky rainbow
on the surface
white foamy crest
bubbling snow

spring dissolves in water
distilling lavender and rose
it's odd, I know, to write a poem
about me washing clothes.

*** Now, if you want to read a really beautiful collection of poems and short entries so wonderfully driven around personal experiences under the symbolism of laundry lines (feel the crisp breeze) written both in prose and verses and collected as a memoir I encourage you to read annelizabethcarson and her Laundry Lines: A Memoir in Stories and Poems http://w.tt/1Ty8X0I
