You tell me your my friend,
And yet you don't know that I,
Am very secluded and shy.

You are always there as support,
Yet you don't know of my gray fort.
Tell me, if you knew about my fears,
Would that bring you to tears?
Or would you just say that this is how the world flies,
That fears are a bunch of lies.

I am like a child, I want have fun and learn,
Would you be proud, of the knowledge that I earn?
Would you protect me from the world, so cold and gray,
And would you light my way?

Would you not laugh at me, when I stumble and fall,
And if I needed it, would you answer my call?

You probably know how insecure I am,
And I am happy that you give a damn.
But, if you knew my past,
Would our friendship last?

I am afraid of every new person I meet, but not because of what you think I see.
I see so many things that can hurt you,
I don't want one of them to be me.

I am afraid of saying something out of line,
But I'm afraid I'm running out of time.

I'm losing myself, and I don't know what to do,
So I will ask this only once,
Can I trust you?
