Shipping, shipping, and more shipping.
So I've thought about it, and I see a whole 'nother world of shipping thanks to Danganronpa (yes I got into it. My Discord friends persuaded me to check it out and here I am in the pit of Danganronpa just binging the games every day. qwq). Now, I know that shipping is mostly based on three parts: personality, the amount of sense it makes, and their current relationship. However, does every relationship have to make sense? People ship NaJ (nerd and jock) because they aren't the kind of ship you would see or expect. When I saw the second game of Danganronpa, (S P O I L E R S)
...when the group was trapped in the Funhouse, Sonia and Gundham were possibly (and most likely) having a thing for each other. This isn't the type of relationship you would expect, but they just... happen. It's a person's decision whether or not they like someone, whether it be their personality, looks, (which might be more toxic, hence why I don't ship Kazuichi and Sonia), and just the way they are. Not every ship has to be based on "oh, they have matching/different personalities/etc, they totally should be together" or "omg they are such good friends, they belong to each other" when right down to the core, it's just something in a person that makes them like another, and I think Danganronpa does a very good job at that.
But it's important you don't go too out of it. For example, ships such as Asgore x Mettaton (finally I squeezed some Undertale in here). Asgore and Mettaton would have no chemistry together whatsoever, and at the very most I see them as friends or even acquaintances. If they were in a relationship, I imagine that MTT would get a whole heck lot of views and ratings would go up, and maybe he would just be using Asgore and respecting/loving him just because he is the king. Therefore, this relationship would not make sense.
However, a ship such as Sans and Toriel would probably make sense. At the very least, they would be close friends, as hinted in the Undertale game and is practically canon in Deltarune, an alternate universe from Undertale.
Also, I'd like to point out how not every friendship means they should be in a relationship. Take Aoi and Sakura (Danganronpa has taken over me I swear) for example. They have similar goals and traits but are still different. They are amazing friends and care for each other a whole lot, but this does not mean that they have to be in a relationship. That's just a very good friendship. They care for each other a lot and get worried when the other is hurt or distraught. Sure, that may be relationship worthy, but wouldn't that also happen in a regular friendship? If a friend didn't care if you got attacked, would they really be being a good friend?
(Okay before you flame me,I'm editing this right now, I totally ship it. I just never watched the anime qwq)
0,0,0Sorry about that, I just wanted to talk about this for some reason.(I also wrote this in in a random announcement, just with the middle part cut off and some parts edited back in due to the 2000 word capacity ^^').
