I hear a knock on my door. I yell "Go  away!" extremely loudly so that who ever was there could hear me over my sobs.

"Hey, I know you're in there so I'm coming in," a familiar voice says.

"No. Stay out!" I don't want to be seen like this, tears streaming down my face as I sob about what I have done. I hear the door creak open. I don't want to look up, but I feel a hand go under my chin and bring my eyes to meet their eyes. It is Sophie, my old best friend, and who society rules as a "hero." 

"Oh goodness, come on Cassie let's get you cleaned up," she says sweetly as she lightly grabs my wrists leading me towards the bathroom. I jump and yelp a little as she touches my slit wrist. She looks down at my wrists, sees the blood and says calmly "Back to old habits I see, you really need to break that habit where is the blade?" 

I point to under the bed to where my entire box of self harm shit was as I say "Why? Why are you doing this? Ever since I found out about my 'power' and being stupid and using it bad you wouldn't talk to me. Also because of that once you were able to stop me from killing someone, the town now sees you as a 'hero' and me as a 'villain.' So why are you trying to help me?" She walks me to the bathroom, sits me down on the toilet seat and starts grabbing disinfectant, towels, and bandages.

"Because" she says "you are my best friend a-and I'vebeeninlovewithyousincewemet" (I've been in love with you since we met) She starts to tear up as she goes to clean my arms and face. I don't know what to say for the first time in a very long time I can't speak. So I decide to just show her how I felt. I slapped her cheek and then kiss her in the same spot.

"W-what was that for?" She asks incredulously.

"The slap was for coming to your senses," I say with a smirk, "and the kiss was to let you know I love you too." When she smiled it was like sunshine shining through an open window.

"Really, I thought you were going to reject me." Her smile still shining. I lean down and kiss her, short and sweet, nothing to much.

"Can we finish cleaning me up? We can watch whatever movie you want." I ask sheepishly.

"Of course doofus, and we are watching 'The Little Mermaid.'" She says kissing my arm where she just bandaged it.

"That has always been your favorite Disney movie has it not Sophie." I say smiling down at her.

"Of course Cassie!" She responds overly excited.

"'The Little Mermaid' it is then." I respond as we head to the living room to watch the movie. Maybe it might have been good that Sophie found me crying.
