Kleinsen

(A/N): I'm more of a tree bros boi but like. Mmmmmmmm ships. I don't hate Kleinsen by any means and YEET leets go. I'm so cringe... and so is this one-shot. Also this is really short sorry ;~;

"Man Evan," Jared groans, pushing away from the computer. "Never knew you'd go this far for a dead gay dude. Makes me wonder if you're gay sometimes."

"Jared s-shut up I'm trying to write an email!" Evan cries from across the desk. He momentarily sticks his tongue out in frustration, mouthing the words "sincerely, me."

"But are you gay?"

Evan's face flushes as he looks up, closing the laptop. "Why would you need to know? Anyways I'm not doing it for Connor I'm doing it for..."

"Zoe. I know." Jared mumbles, feeling the familiar dropping sensation in his stomach. Evan didn't need to know that he was gay. Evan didn't need to know that he was gay, specifically for Evan. "I'm going home."

As he walked Jared thought back. The annoyance he had for hanging out with Evan in the beginning. The realization that being around the anxious teen had made him feel better about himself. The realization that he didn't even dislike him anymore. He wanted to help. So he let himself be dragged into a romance he didn't belong in. He let himself get dragged into the Murphy family with Evan. He was a follower, enraptured by love.

Why couldn't Evan see him? He was trying to wave back through the window in front of Evan's eye. Stupid Connor Murphy, for centering around Evan's lie. Stupid Zoe Murphy, for existing. Stupid Evan, falling for a girl he couldn't even talk to because he was scared. Stupid.. Jared. Jared was the one who had foolishly fallen in love.

"Stupid world where people fall in love," Jared murmurs to himself, staring up at the darkening sky. It was a shade of blue that reminded him of something Evan would like. Evan.

Fuck Evan. But not like that. Like. He didn't know what was going through his head. Maybe like that? Someday?

His mind racing, Jared plopped down on his bed, pulling a laptop to his side. He had a game plan.

Dear Evan Hansen,

Today might not be such a good day for me, but I hope yours goes well. Thing is I like you, but I can't tell you that to your face. You'd probably slap me. Actually probably not. You couldn't if you tried so never mind. But yeah. I like you Evan. Sorry.

Sincerely, me.

He hits send.

Dear Jared Kleinmen,

Okay how can my day go well when it's like 9:01 pm? Also you're right I couldn't punch you. Love you too. Don't use sincerely me again that's my thing.

Sincerely, me.

The reply came only minutes later, and Jared mentally face palmed.

Dear Evan Hansen,

Well I'm sorry that I'm scared of rejection. Thought you liked Zoe?

Sincerely, you.

Dear Jared Kleinmen,

Yeah I like Zoe because she helped me cover up how gay I am haha. Now go to bed we'll talk tomorrow.

Sincerely, me.

Jared smiles at the dork he couldn't see. The dork that belonged to him.
