[Just decided to do this, you know]

The year is 2535, the UNSC is at a steady speed into attempting to win against the Covenant. Many of their tech was that of the original UNSC: The UNSA. However, at that time, 5 soldiers and 1 bot were confirmed to be missing after an explosion in a research station. Years after the Interplanetary war, almost all of the tech used back then were simply forgotten as humanity progressed.

In the reaches of space, Petty-officer John-117, along with his teammates, were sent on a mission to a research station, one that was belonged to ONI. Upon reaching there, however, there were surprisingly less covenant than what they were expecting.

Kelly: Jeez, you think ONI sent another Spartan team before us?

John: Let's move.

As the spartans walked further up the facility, more corpses were shown. Many Covenant forces were decimated, but the tech was something else. All their deaths are either by ballistic and/or by plasma, which they thought the Covenant are the only ones who knew of the tech. Just then, they heard gunfire. They reacted by staying alert as they keep walking.

They heard many screams of the Covenant and servos? It was then that the AI that they brought finally decided to wake up: Cortana. Cortana began to scan the station to the surprised of everyone that there are 9 human life-forms.

Fred: That's not possible

John: Where are they?

Cortana: Not far. They're closer than you think.

Kelly: How close?

Just then the wall breaks open to show a large man snapping an Elite's neck. It was notable that they have old fashion exo-suits.

"You had to burst through the wall"

Big man: What can I say? Bull charge makes me go fast.

The big man entered back through the same hole in the wall.

Kelly: Okay, what?

The Spartans entered through the ready made hole to see 6 figures forming a defensive circle. What they know for sure, one of them isn't human. The large door slowly opens just as the 6 figures went to different positions around the room, one of them jump to impossible height, via the exo-suits itself.

One of the men looked to the spartans and tell them to get to cover, which they complied. As soon as the doors open wide, the men and spartans open fire. The Spartans were surprised that the weaponry that these men used are plasma based. The big man holding an LMG, after others hold SMG, Marksman, Assault and Shotgun. Of course the one on top held a sniper rifle.

After the fire-fight, the men gathered around the Spartans, seemingly to glance and take a good look at them.

John: Who are you?

"Easy there. we just met"

John: Right. What are your names?

"We go by codenames here. I'm Warfighter".

Fred: What about your friends?

Warfighter: Big guy's Merc. Red visored, Phantom - our sniper. White's FTL. Orange over there is Stryker. And the bot is Synaptic.

Kelly: What a complement.

John: What are you all wearing?

Merc: It's called the Rig system. Each of us have specialized rigs. Mine, for instance, can soak up a lot of damage and lift heavy objects.

Cortana: Well I can definitely say that you guys are old.

FTL: Better be more specific. What year is it?

Cortana: It may sound crazy, but the year is 2535.

The rig wearers were shocked by the time jump that have made. They all looked at each other and back at the spartans. Soon after, they settle on a deal with them to head back to the UNSC to be reenlisted back into the military.

They walked through the facility and killed many Covenant that have impede their progress. The spartans were amazed by the rig wearers and their abilities:

First off, the camo-tech on Phantom hid him well enough that they needed to hit him to find Phantom, not to mention the railgun he carry.

FTL is faster than Kelly with the Eraser that vaporized an Elite in one shot.

Next up is Warfighter and his "Claw" as the bullets ricochet off walls and killed many Covenant in the the hallways.

Cortana have too much fun inside with Synaptic's system, shooting the enemies with the Equalizer.

When it comes to larger forces, they were amazed by the power the Merc and Stryker held. Merc fires a beam of energy that locks onto every Covenant and melted them or vaporizer. Similar to Merc, yet different, Stryker fire the Gravity-Vortex cannon which sucked the Covenant forces into what is essentially a mini-black hole.

Upon returning to the Pillar of Autumn, the Spartans were seen first, before showing the Rig Wearers.

Cortana: Captain, look what we've got.

Captain Keyes: Thanks of the heads up, Cortana. But, who are you gentlemen and bot.

Soon, the UNSC integrated the men and not into their ranks. They are more than capable than an ODST, but not as much as Spartans.
