What????
Agnes knew that she should most likely be getting home, but all the flowers in these meadows were unlike any other she had seen. She knew her mother would just love them.
After finding the most perfect flowers for her family's home, Agnes set off to find the path to get home.
She had been walking for a while when she stumbled across a clearing.
What she saw was surely the strangest sight she would ever see.
7 small men were kneeled around a glass case. Animals, big and small, all lay near the glass as well.
What a funny thing indeed.
A glass case in the middle of the woods.
Huh.
That's when Agnes noticed what was in the case. It was a body? She didn't appear to be more than sleeping.
Oh.
Her mother had told her about this.
Death.
It had happened to her Nana recently.
Death. What a curious subject.
Maybe that's why the small men were sad. Agnes remembered how her mother would cry at night after Nana died. She still did sometimes. That's why Agnes had gone to pick to flowers.
Agnes knew the sun would set soon, but as she turned to leave, she heard the sound of hooves hitting the ground.
Watching intently, Agnes saw a nice looking man climb off a horse and walk over to the funny group.
What happened next made Agnes very confused.
Even more confusing than a glass coffin in the middle of the woods surrounded by small men and animals, the prince did something that would make Agnes question her entire life.
He kissed the girl.
Agnes may be 9, but she knew for sure you are definitely not supposed to kiss unconscious girls, ever.
And this girl wasn't even sleeping.
She was dead.
Not only is that really weird, but it's also super gross.
From what her mother told her, dead bodies start decaying after only a few days.
So, unless the small men just had a glass coffin lying around, she had to be that way for a least 2 days.
Agnes tasted bile at the thought of kissing a dead person. And on the mouth.
Eugh.
When Agnes had begun to think she had been dreaming, the girl woke up.
Nope, not dreaming, but definitely crazy.
Agnes didn't want to see what happened next, just in case it somehow got weirder, so she turned and walked away.
She would definitely tell her mother and father about these strange things. What a story that would be. Maybe she should get her brother Walt to write it down.
Yeah, maybe.
What a story indeed.
