In which Kagura is very annoyed to hear certain rumors about a certain sadist, and everyone else is confused.

"Gin-san, Kagura-chan, you'll never believe what I heard! Okita-san has a girlfriend!" Shinpachi exclaimed upon arriving at Yorozuya one morning.

Gin looked bored and picked his nose. "Ah, Souichiro-kun? How unexpected."

Kagura, however, looked downright angry. "The sadist does?? I- I can't- I can't believe him! That stupid do-S--!"

Gin flicked his nose-gunk at her. "Now, now, Kagura, calm down. If you protest like that, people will think you're jealous. And you know Daddy Gin and your Papi have a rule against boyfriends."

She glared at the silver-haired man.

"Gin-chan, don't even think about it. If you'll excuse me, I'm going for a walk!!" With that, the Yato picked up her umbrella and sukonbu and stomped out the door.

"...She's jealous."

"Extremely so."

***Shinsengumi Compound***

Yamazaki was bored to say the least. On days where inspection wasn't needed- like today- he had nothing to do but keep watch. Nothing ever even happened.

That is, nothing happened before a fuming, vermillion haired girl destroyed the gate.

Staggering to his feet, Yamazaki rushed over to her. "Kagura-san? What are you doing here--"

He was rudely interupted. "Where the hell is the Sadist?" She hissed. Terrified, Yamazaki motioned towards Kondo's office, where Kondo, Hijikata, and Okita were having a briefing.

Kagura nodded and stormed towards it. Yamazaki gulped.

This isn't going to end well, I hope Captain Okita doesn't die- screw that, I hope I don't die.

*****

"And so, next meeting, we'll discu--"

BANG!

The sliding door to Kondo's office was abruptly thrown off its hinges. Out of nowhere, Okita pulled his sword out and blocked against an incoming attack.

"China? What are you doing here?" Okita asked, faintly confused.

"You know why! When did you get a girlfriend?!"

"What, jealous, China?"

"Of course not; you wish. But if you get a girlfriend you'll spend all your time around her and you won't have any time to fight me anymore!"

"Sure sounds like you're jealous to me."

"Now, both of you, just calm down and--" Kondo started.

"SHUT UP!" The girl and the sadist shouted. Kondo sat down, dejected.

"I told you, I'm not jealous!"

"Are too."

"Am not!"

"Are too."

"I- AM- NOT!" Kagura yelled, getting in close to punch him. Okita caught her hand. The two stood still, breathing heavily, faces inches apart.

"China, I don't know who started that rumor, but it's not true."

"I knew it-- wait, what?!" Kagura exclaimed.

Okita snorted. "Even if it was, I doubt they'd be enough of an M to stay with me long. Unlike you."

"That's true- hey! I'm not an M, and I'm especially not an M for you!" Kagura complained indignantly.

Okita smirked and leaned in closer. "Deny it all you like, China, but the truth of the matter is you were jealous when you thought I was dating some girl."

Before Kagura could snap back at him, something happened. Perhaps it was a twist of fate. Perhaps careful planning on a certain Mayo-loving police officer. But whatever the reason, Okita and Kagura were not prepared for Okita to slip and fall forward, knocking Kagura over and trapping her underneath him... and smashing their lips together in the process.

The room wasn't even silent for a minute before the shouting.

"You frigging sadist-"

"Yuck, China, you taste like seaweed-"

"You taste like... like... perverted thoughts!"

"How do you know what those taste like, hmm?" While he said this, Kagura was not far off the mark to say he had had some... unusual fantasies lately, involving her, some too outlandish to even the think about in civilized company.

"Oh, shut up, you idiot!"

"Oh, shut up, BOTH OF YOU!" Hijikata yelled suddenly. "Take your dumb lovers quarrel ELSEWHERE!"

The pair- still laying awkwardly on the floor- stared at each other for a second. The Kagura turned pink, pushed Okita off, and ran away.

***A few days later***

Kagura had been in her closet for too long. Everytime she thought about going outside, she considered running into him out there and grimanced.

There was no way she liked him. He was sick. She was still innocent!

Gin wasn't particularly worried yet. She wasn't dying, after all. That's why he had no fear of yanking open her door and dropping in a letter.

"It's from your Papi." He yawned. Then he shut the door.

Kagura frowned. It hadn't been too long since his last. She read it... getting more and more incredulous as she did so.

"What??" Kagura screeched at the end.

She stumbled out, think about the letter.

"Dearest Kagura-
Papi is worried. I heard from a source in Kabuki that you've been... consorting... with a man. You know what I've told you about boyfriends!
However, after thinking about it, I've realized that if you love him, I can't keep you from it... but if he hurts you, Papi will kill him.
After all, I heard it was a young man from the respectable Shinsengumi, so he can't be too bad. As such, I reluctantly give you my blessing.
Be happy, Kagura.
Love, Papi."

Kagura ran outside- running immediately into the person standing outside.

"China?"

"Sadist??"

The two looked at each other in shock. Then Okita smirked.

"You know what you heard the other day, about me getting a girlfriend?"

"Ye-ah..." Kagura said slowly. She didn't like where this was going. Okay, maybe she had a teensy, itty bitty, tiny crush on the Sadist. But there was no way she was gonna tell him.

"Well, it's true."

Just like that her world stopped.

"What?" She managed to croak.

"Yeah." Okita said turning to leave.

"And it's either you or no one." He tossed over his shoulder.

For a second, Kagura stood there on shock. Then she processed his words.

"WHY YOU- GET BACK HERE! You can't decide that on your own!"

Okita visibly hesitated. Maybe that wasn't a good idea.

"I DIDN'T EVEN GET TO SAY YES YET!" Kagura added, flushed.

Okita grinned but then made his face a mask.

"I knew you were a secret M, China."

"Shut up and GET BACK HERE!" SHE yelled.

Gin watched from the balcony.

"Well, we'll either all die, or cause a war... or I just witnessed the start of the most screwed up romance ever." He muttered.

"Eh, they're both stubbern. I sure it'll be fine, Gin-san." Shinpachi smiled.

The two watched as Kagura caught up with Okita, slapped him (they both winced; it sounded painful), then kissed him properly.

Gin shook his head. "My little girl is growing up." He sighed.

Okay one: sorry I took so long to update! Two: I have no idea what that ending was, I honestly don't. I feel like it sucked but I hope you enjoyed reguardless!
