A Rainy Night in Thailand

Thunder boomed across the night sky. The sound of rain hitting the ground and the roof of the house permeated the atmosphere. The storm was getting heavier as warm, brown eyes watched. The man stood at one of the large windows in his apartment, staring out at nothing. A soft smile came to his face as lean, tattooed arms wrapped around his waist. He leaned into the embrace and turned his head to nuzzle the man behind him.

"You were right," he said to his boyfriend. "It's raining cats and dogs tonight."

His boyfriend smirked and pressed a soft kiss to his cheek.

"I know, I told you I can still smell rain when it comes."

"Have you always been able to do that?"

"Pretty much. I've lived near the coast nearly my entire life, I can smell the air and even feel the change in energy when rain or a full-on storm approaches."

"Does the rain smell different here?"

"Not really, it smells about the same everywhere I've been. Like fish, and the sea..."

"But...?"

"There is one difference."

He turned around in his boyfriend's arms to face him, an inquiring look painted his features.

"What is it?"

His boyfriend pretended to think for a moment, a mischievous smile forming as he looked back with loving eyes.

"I've found that the rain in Thailand is much more romantic than the rain in Texas."

The man giggled, smacking his boyfriends' arm, playfully.

"You cheesy ass!"

The man pressed his face against his boyfriends' shoulders as his laughter subsided and a blush spread across his ears and neck. The boyfriend tightened his hug and continued,

"Cheesy or not, it's true. I'm with the man I love here, which makes everything that much more romantic than where I was born or any other place that I've been to."

The two stood in silence, basking in each other's warmth and the love they felt in that moment. After a while, the man finally spoke.

"I love you, too."

As he said this, he moved his head to press a sweet kiss to his boyfriends lips, which was returned with equal passion; the storm continuing as a beautiful symphony to accompany the lovers in their night of passion.
