Illusion.

Sitting on the soft brownish grey sand, I sifted a small, frail hand through the grainy substance. It trickled through my fingers, tiny pebbles following. I sighed contentedly, wiggling my toes under the cool sand, savouring the salty air blowing at my brown hair, cutting my vision to strips. The light blue waves crashed into me, pushing and pulling me as it came and went, singing a happy chant.

The sky was tainted blue, fluffy white clouds dotting it, like splotches of paint on a blue canvas.

Thin seashells lay scattered around, catching the sun rays occasionally, and some hermit crabs even poked out of their houses to peer out.

Too bad it was just an illusion.

In a blink of my eye, the soft and tranquil seashore had transformed to a dangerous cliffside, with sharp rocks edged around the sea line. The sand drained out of their white and velvety  texture, and like a artist painting an art piece, turned dark grey and brown, not at all soft. The pebbles turned to sharp rocks, able to cut skin.

Winds of high speeds wrecked my hair, tossing it around restlessly, and my body was mercilessly thrown around by the strong and hard waves that crashed into me repeatedly, one after the other, no rest in between at all.

The sky darkened noticeably, clouds thickened the sky, and the atmosphere became tense and dark.

Looking around, I saw no one, nothing, no sound except my heavy breathing and the crashing of waves against the rocks.

An unexpected strong wave pushed me down to the water, and I emerged, rotting seaweed tangled in my once silky hair, my eyes burning, and I tried futilely to stop the pain in my eyes. Unfortunately, the pain only increased, until I couldn't open my eyes unless I wanted agony to wreck my body. I stood up, not moving, tilting my head erratically, desperately hoping for a sound, any sound, that could lead me to shore. The hard sand pricked my skin of my feet, and the cold, harsh winds chilled me, my exposed shoulders freezing. I wrapped my arms around me, my swimsuit doing close to nothing to warm me. I didn't want to go and sit down, lest another wave pushes me under.

I heard soft splashing.

Swivelling blindly to the noise, I screamed, wanting this nightmare to end.

"Help!"

Instead of helping me, that mysterious noise maker disappeared, seemingly melting to the noises, leaving me alone, without my eyesight, once more.

But slowly peeling back a wary eyelid, I find that my eyesight was slowly recovering, and I could make out hazy shapes.

Before doing anything, a webbed... thing, got hold of my ankle and tugged hard. A shriek tore itself from my lips as I went under once again.

The grip did not lessen, instead, was dragging me somewhere.

Struggling with all my limbs, I trashed in the water, hoping to get free, or a silver of air to get in my lungs.

The air that I was trying to save was running out quickly, and so was my strength.

I ran out of air.

Shall we play a game of  guess-where-i-was-when-i-got-this-idea?

:3

I have no idea.
