Heather

Heather is a tough character, she didn't come into my book in the easiest of ways. Literally, I finished chapter 3 and then realized I didn't have any girls in my story, so I stuck chapter 4 in and just went with what happened. I'm still struggling to fit her in, because she should be an important character but she can't change the plot I’ve already set up in any big ways.

She’s in third person because I need to test some things out. A multiple p.o.v. story in first person is not considered the smartest idea, and I’ve had some of my writing buddies point out it would probably be best to change all of it to third. I hate third person and think I’m horrible at it. Zack is extremely de-humanized through the course of the book, but having his p.o.v. in first person helps him stay more human. Changing him to third person, in my eyes, would completely ruin his character. Heather is in third person so I can practice writing in it and see how it looks. When all is said and done, all of the characters are either going to be in third person or first person. I don't plan to have heather have a different p.o.v. than everyone else at all in the final draft, because that isn't a very good idea. But heather should have a unique voice in the end regardless, which I am excited to see if it works out :)

Of course, this makes heather my only COMPLETLY original character, and I haven’t found much inspiration for her since. Whenever I make a completely original character they always have a personality like heather or Aiden. I have a hard time making my characters lean towards other personalities, which is strange because I actually hate sarcasm XD

Heather's Pokémon partner would be a staraptor. She’d also have a pidgeotto, a tornadus, a rapidash, a gardevior and a leipard :D
