01: When did you first start writing?

pffffffff I can't remember. I was writing before I could write. Like, I would draw a bunch of pictures and then explain them to my mom and have her write down what I explained, then ask my dad to bind all the pictures together into a picture book. It was more to impress my dad with the drawing than the writing a story part of it, because my dad was trying (and is still trying) to publish some books he's written and illustrated. I remember one I wrote where a pizza man came to our house to drop off the pizza we had ordered, and our dog somehow got outside and attacked the pizza man, ate all the pizza, and then threw up all over the carpet. (based on a true story too)

02: What was your favorite book growing up?

The magic tree house series :) Those were my childhood. I remember trying to get my siblings to read them too but they were never interested and I actually got pretty angry XD Maybe I can get my baby brother into them though. He isn't old enough to read yet. 

03: Are you an avid reader?

*looks up definition of avid* HA YOU THINK? yes... although I don't read as much now that I'm writing so much.

04: Have you ever thrown a book across the room?

Divergent almost killed me.

05: Did you take writing courses in school/college?

I have a poetry class every Tuesday night over at the young writer's project website and a creative writing independent study with my English teacher. I could take college classes but high school is busy enough XD

06: Have you read any writing-advice books?

99% of the books in my library on wattpad are how-to-write books and my dad has a subscription to a magazine all about publishing that I look through every once and a while.

07: Have you ever been part of a critique group?

Young writer's project is the best critique group ever! Also my friends Zavier and Jackson enjoy writing so we would share our stories with each other and help each other out.

08: What’s the best piece of feedback you’ve ever gotten?

"Most of these notes aren’t problems with your writing style, but with the backstory and story.

Heres a list of things I think you should look at:

Robots, try out other names for them.

I almost want to see the story not in the first person. Because the “I” changes every chapter,

Description, give me more description, I want to see things, rather than have a vague sense of what’s going on.

“Aiden loved to give people nicknames. My actual name was Joshua, but he called me Josh, and eventually everybody else did. He called Mayor Bordellon Crazy Melon, which had become a private joke in school. And apparently, he had already come up with an appropriate nickname for Zack, although he was sure to change it until he found the perfect one.” This info should be given earlier. Don’t give us the info from Aidens point of view, saying it was a common nickname, its offputting, and it doesn’t flow well.

Meo. oh boyyyy. “Master Evil Overlord.” Im sorry pomp, but I need to put my foot down, hard, here. This is for a couple of reasons. 1. “Evil” characters never think of themselves as being “evil”, they always have justification. 2. Master evil overlord. I liked meo, it was evil sounding, and it had the right air to it to make it sound sufficiently evil without being too overt. The fact that it was an acronym, however, turned your story from a serious one into something called a “crack fic”. Take a quick look at here: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/CrackFic. While crack fics can be fun, the story you’ve written so far is not a crack fic.

not gonna critique your use (or lack of) cursing/cussing and using holy rhododendrons and say “YOU MUST CURSE”, but “holy rhododendrons” is kind of out there. Build a religion or something into the backstory of this world, create some deity or the like. Use curse words relating to them. not only helps you get around the “not cursing/cussing”, but also creates a believable way to curse in-universe.

Zack’s powers are inconsistent. He can tell that a person is sad cause they lost their dog, but he cant tell what master bordellon is thinking about when he’s lying. An important aspect of retaining the readers suspension of disbelief is consistency. Not with what the real world has, but in-universe consistency.

 Alright, that’s all the critique. I know that seems like a lot of negativity, but its across all the chapters, not just one. On to the good stuff!

 Righto, first of all, loveeee the universe you’ve created here, and want to learn about it so much more! Random giant robot attacks? Yes please. Some form of magical powers? Oh yeah! Amnesiac kid who has super magic powers? Even bettterrr! just the premise of the story is really really cool.

Definitely liking Zack as a character. The mystery of him is really eating at me, and you’re doing a pretty good job at making me want to read the next chapter. Though, I think ive already figured out who/what Zack is, so you mighhhttt want to relocate that one scene where he interacts with the fog.

Also, the tractor tires thing? Totally didn’t think twice about it. And now that we know that master bordellon is lying, it just turns him into a bad liar. (which adds depth of character [GOOD!])

 I think that’s everything I wanted to touch on. Overall, the backstory could use a bit of work (and try writing in google docs or something with a spell-checker)­, but I really do like it."

What’s the worst piece of feedback you’ve ever gotten?

This was REALLY hard for me to decide, you don't even understand. I have never gotten a bad piece of feedback.

but "When are you going to update? I NEEDS to read more of this!!! It's SO good!" actually stressed me out a lot XD But I absolutly loved it. It made me feel so amazing, even if it was for a few moments before I started to deny it. So this feedback is still amazing.

10: What’s your biggest writer pet-peeve?

Starting the book by describing your appearance in the mirror (did somebody say divergent?)

11: What’s your favorite book cover?

(picture at the top, although wattpad kind of messed up the dimensions)) I almost screamed when I saw this one. I want this guy to design my cover if I ever get published.

12: Who is your favorite author?

RRRRRRRIIIIIIIIIICCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKK RRRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRDDDDDDDDAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNN

did I mention I've actually seen him before? He was in Boston and I got tickets to listen to him talk about being a writer. I also got a camp Jupiter and camp half-blood t-shirt and a signed copy of the blood of Olympus. He's as funny in real life as he is in his writing.

13: What’s your favorite writing quote?

""I am a writer" I say as I’m staring at the blank piece of paper for hours.

"I love writing" I say, grinding my teeth and breaking my pencil in half.

"Writing keeps me sane" I say, laughing like a maniac and spinning my head around 360 degrees while climbing up the wall."

Also young writers project is a collection of writing blogs and young writers project is the best writing thing period.

15:What would you say has inspired you the most?

16: How do you feel about movies based on books?

depends. Divergent was better than the books (but still horrible) Percy Jackson and the maze runner made me want to murder Hollywood, and hunger games and harry potter were ok (but the books are still better)

17: Would you like your books to be turned into TV shows, movies, video games, or none?

I would prefer an anime or other cartoon to a movie, but a movie would be fine. For either, though, here are the requirements:

1. NO SWEARING. THERE IS NO SWEARING IN THE BOOKS, THERE SHOULDN'T BE ANY SWEARING IN THE TV SHOW/ MOVIE

2. Danny Elfman has to compose the music. HAS TO!

3. please please please try to make it as close to the book as possible, unless you want to be murdered. *stab stab stab*

4. Try to get a contract with lego company. If I had a little lego minifig of Zack I would scream.

Computer. I don't hold a pencil correctly so it hurts A LOT to write long hand.

does young writer's project count because that is my favorite writing related thing period.

21: Do you outline?

Nope, that triggers my low self-esteem issues and tempts me to delete my whole blog. But I have it all on my brain. seriously. list a number between 1 and 38, I'll give you one word describing that chapter with only 1-3 seconds of thought depending on what chapter you listed. SERIOUSLY TRY IT, IT COULD BE SO MUCH FUN!

fav: Planning all the mysteries and then planting hints through the whole thing until the big reveal. }:D

DO IT FOR YOURSELF, NOT FOR FAME OR FURTUNE OR THE CRITICS OR PRESS OR FANS! DON'T CARE ABOUT WHAT OTHERS THINK, AS LONG AS YOU HAVE FFUUNNNNNNNNNNNN!

Well my books always start off fantasy and then slowly turn more and more sci-fi as my idea grows. I enjoy both just as much.

HA the beginning for sure...

Editing will be the death of me.

I started getting into writing novels by writing pokemon fanfics. (with magical minerals that controlled certain elements :P)

brown reclining chair that thankfully isn't leather. Pellet stove making weird noises. Cat snoring. Tv on. (I NEED to have background noise.)

that pokemon fanfic about the girl who had the spirit of a pokemon possesing her so she could change into a pokemon at will but was still human.

Gems, Dynacaries, That pokemon fanfic based on brother bear, a story titled "The worst book ever written" Which is basicly just making fun of cliches and love triangle stuff, and helping with Zasuki: Tainted Souls although I don't know much about it yet so I technicly havn't started.
