Alright.

SDR2 time.

It's my least favorite cast as a WHOLE. But I still really like these characters. Three more than I like any dr1 character.

Feel free to comment on any of my opinions. I dont mind. But I wont argue if that's what you're looking for

So on with the opinions!

Peko:
Ok so I'm going to be completely honest.

The only reason she's a "love" and not a "like" is because she's hot and kuzupeko.

I know I know, its bad...

Its just,,,  her FTEs were kinda boring??? And she was stone faced, but not really that mysterious????

We only really learned about her character seconds before execution. And her true self amplified Fuyuhiko has a character more so than herself.

But still, she's adorable and kind of interesting. I feel like if we learned a lot more about her past in depth, she could be a favorite for me!

Imposter:
HE WAS SO CLOSE

SO CLOSE TO BECOMING REALLY COOL.

BUT THEN HE DIED

sure, there's the anime. But screw that. I'm talking about the games (plus, I hate the anime)

He actually had me really intrigued since the beginning. Given I thought he was Togami and all but still.

I mean, I always thought he was a like... some different version of togami?? And I really wanted to get know more about him

BUT THEN HE SACRIFICED HIMSELF FOR HECCING NAGITO

Akane:
Literally the only thing I found noteworthy about her was "it" and the fact that her step mom's boyfriends perved on her all the time.

I thought that was funny.

Other than that there's literally nothing to see here.

Teruteru:
He was hilarious.

AND LEGIT HIS MOMMA MADE ME CRY AT HIS EXECUTION. I LEGIT CRIED FOR TERUTERU, SO HE DESERVES MORE THAN A NEUTRAL.

Nagito:
He was super interesting, mysterious, and crazy...

But also super godman annoying.

Like the levels of frustration with him...

Like when I first started watching the game "oh hes a super nice guy! Hes my favorite right now!" And then "holy shit hes insane! Even better!"

But then chapter four rolls around

Nagito: I completed final dead room and I hate you Hajime you useless prick

Me: WELL EXCUSE ME BITCH, GO LOOK IN A FUCKING MIRROR YOU ACTUAL ASSHOLE FUCK. YOU'RE SO GODAMN ANNOYING AND NOW YOU HAVE THE AUDASITY TO DISS HAJIME THAT WAY? GO SUCK A TIT, BECAUSE I KNOW YOU'RE GAY AND THAT WOULD BE TOURTURE FOR YOU ASSFACE.

And I don't even like Hajime that much. So basically, he was good until he became a fucking asshole.

Sonia:
Sonia... yet another queen.

I mean, being a queen is written in her future so like??? Obviously.

People find her boring and arrogant, but those same people also have Kazuichi as a husbando.

Sonia, although she seemed like it, wasn't an idiot.

Well she was when it came to knowing how to... people.

But she was book smart, and actually useful sometimes.

She's was kind and looking out for everyone! She literally threw herself under the bus for Chiaki in trial 5.

"But but but she was so mean to Kazuichi!!" I hear the Souda fangirls yell from their cave.

Um... no. She wasn't. HE was creepy. She only got 'mean' to him in chapter 4, when she legit couldn't put up with him anymore.

She only stood up for herself. Go girl!

Fuyuhiko:
I ussseeeddd to hate him like everyone else diddd

But when Peko died,

He became a favorite.

His character development had PERFECT pacing.

Some people think the cause of his arc and kuzupeko is forced, but what you gotta understand is that they didnt just meet. They've known eachother their entire lives.

Her death was sorta a wake up call.

His hot headed personality made him either cute or funny at times.

And although his tendency to jump to conclusions and call it done was a little frustrating at times, it really amplified his personality and how he liked to get things done.

Also the memes. Very good memes.

Kazuichi:
He's. Boring.

And a borderline sex offender.

His personality in a nutshell is "my dick is small enough to fit in steel nuts and MISS SONIA I LOVE YOU"

Yeah he was bullied as a kid.

But he just sucks as a character.

Chiaki:
She's wonderful. She's beautiful. AND JUST YES ALL AROUND.

She's actually really smart, and even though she seems to doubt herself by ending most of her statements with "maybe" or "probably" she always tried her best to help.

AND JUST... CHIAKI PUT ME RIGHT IN THE FEELS. I HAVE NEVER CRIED OVER AN ANIME GIRL SO MUCH. I CRIED OVER HER EXECUTION, HER EFFECT ON HER CLASSMATES, HER MESSAGE DURING CHAPTER SIX, THE ANIME EVEN THOUGH I HATED IT, AND HER BEAUTY.

Chiaki is just... so good.

Mahiru:
Mahiru is under rated honestly.

She was a danganronpa feminist before Tenko made it cool.

Also the way Hiyoko kinda forced her into friendship was really funny (I'll get more into that when I talk about Hiyoko though)

I liked her from the start... but for design reason tbh XD.

But I really did think she was cool!

Her FTEs were interesting which I really liked because some of the other characters FTEs were more one note and repetitive causing me not to like them as much.

Her backstory perfectly explained her slight distaste for men and her wanting to put higher expectations on them.

Also, she became so much more interesting seconds before her death. I really wanted to get to know her a lot more.

Hiyoko:
Ok, so I love Hiyoko a lot. I feel like there are TONS of things people don't realize about her character.

Like, my theory is that she bullies people due to her own insecurities. Which is probably true. The way she forced Mahiru into friendship is a key example of this.

And no, that doesn't give her an excuse for her actions to Mikan.

Adimit it though, you laughed at AT LEAST one of her jokes, you disgusting mother fucker. I know I did. I laughed at all of them :)

Unless you're super nice to which I envy hEHEHE.

ANOTHER THING

You may be thinking "Mahiyoko is just a recolor of ishimomdo, and you said their friendship was useless, so what's up?"

WELL PAL, LET ME EXPLAIN.

First of all, the friendship wasn't just "we fucked in the sauna"

It was, "WE FUCKED IN THE SHOWER AND YOU GOT TO SEE IT" SO THAT'S A TOTAL UPGRADE.

Just kidding.

It was more gradually grown. Mahiru didn't have a strong opinion on Hiyoko at first, then Hiyoko started dragging her around places. That's when Mahiru started defending her more, and they really became close.

Also, Hiyoko's character development wasn't just "Robo Mahiru gave me an inspirational quote she found on instagram"

NO.

IT WAS SIMILAR TO FUYUHIKO EXCEPT SHE WAS STILL KINDA A BITCH AND 10X MORE TSUNDERE

Mahiru died and that's when Hiyoko got the message "oh shit, human life is fragile and valuable" and of course you can't just break bad habits in an instant, but you could definitely see Hiyoko trying her best to warm up to cast.

BUT OF FUCKING KODAKA COURSE THEY HAD TO KILL HER OFF IN CHAPTER THREE.

THE COULDN'T KILL AKANE OR KAZUICHI, NO. IT HAD TO BE THE GIRL WHO WAS AT THE VERGE OF A BEAUTIFUL CHARACTER ARC. OF COURSE.

Also the Mahiru shrine was cute and no other person made a shrine for any of their friends except for hiyoko.

NOT EVEN THE V3 CAST PUT UP A KAEDE SHIRNE WHICH IS PRETTY WEIRD CONSIDERING THE ENTIRE CAST CLAIMS THEY LOVED KAEDE WITH EVERY BONE IN THEIR BODY-

Hajime:
He's Makoto LITE

Except he literally doesn't give a shit about anything.

And a tsundere.

And he doesn't even have a taLENT AHAHAHAHAHHAHA

Mikan:
I... I dont like her. She's not interesting and she's not even hot.

I ESPECIALLY hate her freetime events.

You haven't seen them? Here's a summary: "IM SOOOOOORRRRRRRRRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!"

Her FTEs made me wanna RIP my hair out of my head because that would be less painful.

They would have been SUPER interesting if she didnt say sorry after each stutter.

And I get it. Her past is a little fucked up, and I get really annoyed when people dont take credit for their mistakes, but Mikan apologizes for EXISTING.

She literally did nothing wrong. And the fact she apologized for it turned it into her doing something wrong.

Also because of how fanservicey she was, and I hate this idea myself, but it REALLY made her behavior seem borderline attention seeking.

Don't get me wrong though, I dont dislike her as a person. I don't think she deserves the sexual abuse or bullying she gets. No one does. But as a character, I would have loved of they made her a little easier to follow, understand, and emphasize with. So I dislike her as a character, not a person.

Ibuki:
Ok, so I used to find Ibuki really annoying. I hated her and didn't understand why she was liked so much.

Looking back at her now, she's just a fun loving carefree girl who wants to make sure everyone's having a good time!

I mean, she set up a party for Fuyuhiko and a mock up summer fire works festival! Just to celebrate!

She did a lot of sweet things for people and she walked through life shinning with positivity without a care in the world.

Really sucks that she had to die...

Nekomaru:
He was a huge Shit joke.

Wait he sacrificed himself for Akane?

Well I'm glad the annoyingly useless characters stuck together.

Wait he got turned into a robot, too?

Wasn't it a joke about how useless his functions were?

Wait he sacrificed himself for the second time?

Eh. Gundham was better.

Gundham:
Another character I used to diddly darn hate.

Well, I mean, from chapter one and two. I started liking him in chapter three because oOOO MISS SONIA GOTTA CRUSSSHH.

On his hamsters uwu

And Gundham ;)

AND LET ME JUST SAY, WHEN GUNDHAM STARTED TO LIKE SONIA HE GOT SO ADORABLE AND JUST HHHH YES.

Sonia, since she's a princess, doesn't really know what normal is.

And this roleplay is Gundham's normal

So their dynamic was great. And that's what got me to start liking Gundham.

Also his hamsters are a big yes.
