"Yo, do you ever wonder what its like on the surface?" Surprised by the question, you look at Monster Kid with a puzzled look. He looks sad.

"Yo, I mean, why do we live down here? There's so much more room up there, right?" You don't say anything, but lower your gaze. Beside you, Monster Kid sighs, his head dropping. You watch him silently.

"Like, I've heard stories about it. Up there, I mean. Everyone says its beautiful." His voice is quiet, and you want to say something to make him feel better, but can't think of anything to say.

"One day, when I'm big and strong, I'm going to go to the surface. I'll make it up there, and we'll all live happy." He looks to you, smiling wide now, full of hope. You smile back, and put a hand on his shoulder. He beams even more.

"Yeah.. I can see it now, Monster Man, savior of all monster-kind!" He kicks his legs out, striking a dramatic heroic pose, and you laugh with him, nodding in encouragement. When you calmed down a bit, Monster Kid looked ahead, the shining crystals on the cavern's ceiling shimmered in his eyes.

"We'll have a new home." He whispered. Following his gaze, you watched from a distance the large castle before you, illuminated by the glowing gems. It looks so small from this distance, and you begin to wonder how big it is.

Movement catches your eye, and you look back to your friend, who is now standing by your side.

"But for now, I'm just Monster Kid. I still have a lot of growing up to do," you get up to stand next to him, facing him. He closes his eyes for a moment, his grin spread wide on his muzzle.

"And your my best friend. I don't want to lost that, ever." You feel touched by his words and smile at him, nodding. He opens his eyes again and wags his tail.

"Yo, enough with that for now. Let's go find Undyne!" He runs ahead of you, tripping on his feet and face planting, but gets up again and disappears into the darkness of the cave ahead. You start after him, nearing the entrance and placing your hand on the cool rock, but stop right before you go in.

Taking one more glance at 'Home', you make a silent promise to help Monster Kid fulfill his dream. A call from ahead returns you to reality and you laugh, chasing after Monster Kid with a carefree innocence.
