Mirena stepped out of the carriage, the two guards that accompanied her were speaking to another guard. After a minute they turned away and walked back towards the carriage. "What's going on?" asked Mirena. "We will have to stay here for the night, the guard informed me of the dangers that will occur if we should continue our journey to Castle Dracula." said one of her guards. "We do not know of this place, how can we trust whoever rules here?" she added. The second guard sighed "your highness, we understand how confused you are, but we will not continue until it is safe." said the second guard.
Mirena sighed. "Very well, bring me inside, it's getting very cold." she ordered. The guards bowed slightly before bringing the carriage across the bridge and in front of the large chateau that stood before them. "French territory." she whispered. Mirena was familiar with the french, but it had been sometime since her last encounter. A servant, along with more french guards appeared. The guards took the horses to the stables to be cared for, her own guards went into the village to rest at one of the taverns, as for Mirena she was brought inside the large Castle and guided to one of the bedrooms by the servant. She watched the servant carefully, lighting the fire and making sure the room was warm and comfortable. She took good care of Mirena. "there you are my lady, if you should need me ring this bell and I will come." she said showing her the bell. "Of course, thank you." said Mirena. the servant bowed before leaving the room, Mirena got up and looked around, it was a lovely room, it had reminded her of her own room back home in Romania.
She grew tired of staying in her room, she left the room and walked around the halls of the castle. exploring a bit. At the end of the hall was a very large library, she entered and set her eyes upon the many cases of books and scrolls. A fireplace was lit, keeping the room warm. Mirena explored the library, running her hand on the spine of the books. "This is incredible." she whispered. She found a book written in Turkish and in Romanian, she took the book off the shelf and set it down on the table, she sat down and opened it. She read it to herself, every now and then speaking the words aloud in the two languages.
"Enjoying my books I see." said a voice. Mirena gasped and looked up with a start. Her eyes set upon a man with brown curly hair, brown eyes, pale skin, and dressed in blue. his voice was deep and had a bit of a French accent. "I uh, I was....I was just curious that's all." she said. the man laughed, coming into the light. Mirena was surprised at how young the man was, he seemed to be in his early 20s. "I assume you want to know who I am." he said. "You can read my mind can't you." she replied. "Yes cherie, I can. I am the same creature as your husband." he said. At this point he was standing in front of her. "You know Vlad?" the man nodded. "I have not met him I'm afraid, but I have read about him." he explained. "You must be his wife Mirena."
"Yes I am, and you are?" she paused. "Lestat De Lioncourt." he introduced himself. "Lestat? that is a name I have not heard before. It's quite interesting." she complimented. Lestat chuckled. "Indeed, and might I say it is a pleasure to meet you your highness." he said kissing her hand. Mirena smiled. Suddenly a storm had presented itself, making Mirena gasp a little. "Don't be afraid madame, it is only a storm." Lestats words made her feel better. "Lestat I just wanted to thank you for allowing me and my guards to spend the night. It has been quite the journey, I do hope to see my husband soon...there is something I wish to tell him and I cannot wait to do so." she said. "Of course your highness, it is my pleasure...and might I ask what this message is?" he asked. Mirena shied away. "I apologize madame, I understand if it is personal to you." Mirena shook her head. "No, it's quite alright. It's just, gosh it hurts." she said clutching her stomach. "I'm alright." she added before continuing. "I wanted to tell my husband that I am with child." She said. Lestat knew mirena wasn't lying, he could sense another heartbeat. "I'm sure your husband will be pleased with the news, and might I add my congratulations to you." He said. Mirena groaned a bit. "Thank you your highness, and...if you don't mind I need to lie down." Lestat nodded before summoning a female servant.
Ordering her to bring mirena to her chambers. All the while he thought about mirena, curious to learn more about the princess of wallachia.
