The hermits (+ Mighty) are all affected by X in Central Server. The hermit was exploring Mighty's records and accidently opened a book that opens a magic that affects the code. 

 This magic turns everyone into Pokémon gijinkas (Pokémon hybrids). Everyone is confused by the sudden changes, and some of them accidently use their moves. Let's just say that type advantages are dangerous.
