This idea was based off a dream I had. I just edited it slightly. 

 The hermits, evolutionists, and the stumpt (plus the author and a friend) are all kidnapped by something. This something wants to play a game. If someone fails their thing then, well, their forcibly turned into an animal. They still have their minds in tact..... for the most part.
