My Japanese Classmates: Pass the Story Introduction

Background:

We're doing that thing where you pass a story in class.

There are traditionally four sections of Japanese texts: introduction, development, twist, and conclusion.

Everyone wrote an "introduction" today (and then edited it for grammar), and we're going to write the development of someone else's story next time, and then the twist of another person's story, and so on.

The introduction is supposed to just set up the story. Answer the typical who-what-where-when-why, right?


me: (develops two well-crafted, detailed sentences and puts a Japanese space between clauses to make it easier for my classmates to understand)


Me trying to figure out my classmates' Japanese: (squints)

The girl who is so impatient and stubborn and acts like a smart-alec: (writes over 11 sentences with dialogue and poor grammar)

One of the boys that has completely different experience from us UMSL students: (writes in the wrong section) {I haven't finished translating his, but he definitely wrote a twist, so he might've written an introduction, development, and twist.}

The girl that tries hard but forgets everything: (does a decent job of an introduction - some mistakes here and there, but it's an understandable introduction.)


me: ... Wtf. Did they not understand the instructions--? Even though I clarified... (Because I, too, was unsure, and was mistaken about one aspect of the instructions - writing a section as opposed to a sentence)

I mean, I guess I understood because I've done something like this before. ... or something--
