What I Never Thought You'd Do (Yandere!Ike X Reader)

My last braincell at 3am: Write it
Me: Why?
My last braincell at 3am: Just do it

And that children, is how this was made
Also ya get two today because I've been meaning to upload this since I first started this book, but I didn't want my first story to be a Yandere one. This has been sitting in the drafts for like... 3 weeks now?

Seriously, I don't know why. I woke up to feed the cats and this came to mind. Why with Ike of all characters is beyond me, especially since he's not even really romantic at all

Then again, Ike IS my favorite FE character so... I may be bias

Also, I think this goes without saying, but this is NOTHING like Ike's actual personality. It's HEAVILY changed for sake of the story. I hope I don't ruin him for his fans because of this. I like Ike *Insert Meme here*

Warnings: Typical yandere triggers (Obsessive behavior, Violence, blood, etc.)
Gender: Female

(I imagine this takes place before Radiant Dawn, so imagine Ike in his PoR outfit)

"Oh no you don't..." Ike glared at Me. I had seen him kill a man in cold blood. He had been someone I was seeing, possibly hoping to find love. I had watched Ike slay him, right in front of me. We both stared at each other, standing a bit away. I was horrified, but knew I had to run.

I took a step back... and instantly booked it in the opposite direction of Ike. I could hear him chasing after me. How did the world come to this?! How could Ike, the leader of our mercenary group, kill out of spiteful jealousy? He never seemed like the type of person to take relationships seriously, much less be so worried about faithfulness as to kill.

Dodging the trees of the forest, I had to get back to the fort. I had to explain to everyone what was going on with Ike. The last few weeks he had been acting strange around me, but when I asked anyone else, they claimed to not know anything. Yet, I think that was only said out of fear, as it never felt like the others were speaking the truth, but were rather being forced to as if they had a bow pointed at their backs.

He had been seemingly fallowing me, standing close at my side, getting angry when anyone else would speak to me. Its like he knew whenever I talked to someone else, and especially guys. What has gotten into him? He was supposedly never like this before I arrived a few months ago.
I tripped over an uproot, and fell. But I stood, despite the pain of my ankle. I couldn't let Ike catch me. I glanced behind me...

But I saw nothing

I began to slow for a brief moment to catch my breath. Where did Ike go?! I was terrified he would jump me, so I didn't stay still for long. I kept going though the darkness. If there was one thing that I was good at, it was hearing footsteps. I'd be able to hear Ike's, He wouldn't be able to sneak up on me

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I finally saw the glow of the mercenary fortress come into view. Lights on, people awake. I grinned in confidence, and made one last rush to the fortress. I had to tell the others, or at least make myself heard. I had to warn them of Ike's behavior; it seemed like I was clear...
But that's when I was negligent...
Unknown to me, Ike had been in a tree, watching me get ready to move. Suddenly, I heard the leaves shift, and felt a hard hit to the back of my head. I cried out loud in pain and fell to the ground stunned, but my cry was short as the stun took me over. I felt limp, unable to move as if paralyzed.
"Did you really think I was that stupid to let you run off like that?" I heard his voice, and he came into my line of sight, his sword having the stained blood of my significant other on the blade, and now mine, upon the swords hilt. In my dazed state, I had a hard time making out what he was saying, but it was clear enough to know, I should have told people where I was going. Ike knelt down to me, and placed his hand under my chin, forcing me to look at him. He had such a caring smile, one that once made me feel so safe. The blood on his clothes sickened me, unlike the times before.
"I know it's scary. You're alone in the forest with no one to hear you scream. But trust me, just keep quiet and listen to what I say, and you won't be hurt. I don't want to hurt you."
He stood up and took steps around me, as I struggled to move, but dizziness kept me down. It was like an animal having just cornered it prey, and was waiting to make a satisfying kill. "You probably thought I wasn't that kind of guy, did you? Well you've thought wrong, and now that mistake has cost you. Before we met, I had no such feelings like this, about anyone. But when you first arrived to this fort, it was like a switch came on and changed me. I needed you at my side. But I always saw you talking with others, and when I noticed you had a significant other already, I had to get them out of the picture. So I did..." Ike chuckled a little at the last part of his sentence.
"I got rid of them... all of them. The people of the towns that you had feelings for? All of them just seemingly going away without a trace. You didn't find it in the least bit suspicious that once you arrived here, every person you became close with started disappearing? Well, excluding the other Mercenaries, because even if they are obstacles, I kinda need them for business. Besides, I can make them go away if need be."
Ike stopped back in front of me, knelt down once more, and forced my eyes at him. "Time for us to go home. But... I need to make sure you don't know where it is."
Ike had a sadistic smile on his face as he pulled his sword close. Gripping it, he bashed the blunt end of the hilt into my head, causing radiating dizziness to go down my body. I felt my nose start to bleed, and red drip in front of my eyes. Then I felt another hit, and it became dark.
I tried to remain awake, remain aware to take notes of where I may end up. I felt my body being dragged across the ground, before hitting another object, and eventually being picked up. There was a bit of walking I could tell, but my sense of direction was completely off. I heard Ike talking, but couldn't make out words very well.
"....re..ou...st......ake...? Ca.....ave...that..."
He was talking to me, but words were fuzzy. I felt myself being placed back down on the ground, and one final hit to my skull. The darkness enveloped me, my senses faded, and I fell into blackness...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I wasn't sure what time it was when I started to wake. I felt horrible, ill to my stomach with a headache and sore all over. But I could tell I was in the process of being tied. I felt something rough being wrapped around my wrists behind my back. "Gotta make it tight... can't let her get out." Said a voice I recognized; Ike's. I felt that I was leaning on a pole, sat up. Soon the feeling of ropes stopped and I heard Ike walking around the room.

I heard what sounded like glass being moved and scratched against each other. "Damn, where did I put it?" Ike muttered to himself. More shuffling of items I heard. Pages of a book flipping, the strikes of a flint and steel, and water in a bucket. I tried to open my eyes, but I could only manage slits, everything was still double.

"Gruhhh..." I unintentionally muttered out loud, but I wish I had not. Because whatever Ike was doing, he stopped instantly upon hearing my voice.
"(Y/N?)" He asked.

I heard his steps come closer, and felt his presence, kneeling down next to me. He put a hand on my shoulder. "(Y/N)? Are you awake?" He asked in such a caring voice, it was hard to think this was the same man who killed my significant other. He put his hand on my forehead. "Are you feeling ok?"

"Urrg..." my body yet again sputtered out, this time in pain from him barely touching my head. Despite my pain, I could make out I was in a small room. A fire was just getting started on the other side of the room in a pit. Ike was to my right staring at me with sorrow in his eyes, almost like he was disappointed or shocked.

"No No, you can't be up yet. I'm not finished." He took a stand once more and went to grab something, then knelt back down. "Just a little longer, I promise. A little longer..."
He brushed the hair from my face, then I felt the hard hit of a sword once more upon my head. The warmth of darkness yet enveloped me once more.

~~~~~~~~~
Throughout it all, I would lapse briefly in and out of consciousness, but never long enough for me to remember what happened. Soon however, my body was forcing itself awake, trying to shake off the sleepy feeling. I had to get up, had to see where I was taken, try and find a way back to everyone else.
"Ugg, get up (Y/N), see where you are!"
As I opened my eyes, slowly the dark and fuzziness cleared to show the sights of the room. First, the fire pit across from me was now blazing, flooding the room in warmth. The room seemed to be almost like a cellar or basement, with stone walls and a harsh floor. Off to the left there was a small table with a single chair, and someone within it, and beyond that was a wooden door.
To my right was just a single bed, simple and obvious. A candle was on the table, burning bright. I felt my wrists tied, behind both the pole and my back. I also felt some cloth over a spot on my forehead. Overall, the room was simplistic in design.
"Hey... can you hear me?" A calm voice rung in my head as I tried to struggle, and I was giving inaudible grunts. The person stood from the chair and I felt them kneel down to me. "Shh, it's ok, you're safe now." They tried to reassure. I felt their hand on my shoulder. "Just calm down. If your still tired, go back to sleep. There's no rush."
But I refused to, I had to get up. I was slowly starting to get feeling back to my limbs. I stretched them out as best I could while sitting. "Looks like you're finally coming to." They said. After much work, I finally was able fully open my eyes, and see the person in front of me, and I gasped when I did.
Ike was kneeling down to me with the most sweet smile on his face and look of relief in his eyes. "You're up! That's good... I was worried I may have struck you too hard." He explained. "You've been out a good few hours."
"I-Ike?! What's going on?!"
"Easy, calm down. You're still recovering from being injured." He tried to reassure me. "You're safe, nothing can hurt you now."
"S-safe? I-injured!?" I panicked. "You mean when you bashed me over the head with the blunt edge of your sword?!" I glared.
"I had to get you here somehow." He explained. "And I didn't want you finding out where it was. Clearly the best solution."
"Ike, what in heck is going on!? Why are we here, in this random room, rather then with the company?! If I'm hurt, Rhys can heal me!"
"No he can't." He bluntly explained, turning his caring look to a serious face. "I won't let you near him, Nor anyone else again. The world is too awful for you."
I stared in shock at him. "Ike I..."
"You saw me kill that person, correct?"
"...Yeah. My significant other..."
"And I can't let you go off and tell people about it." He was now glaring. "But I also can't kill you; I love you too much. So, I brought you here, to a room where you'll be safe with me. The world out there is cruel, you are too nice." He put his hand out and caressed my cheek. "No one else deserves you, and I won't let anyone else bring harm to you."
"W-What about the company?!"
"Oh they keep busy." He smiled. "I tell them I have certain things I need to do alone. That's all they need to know."
"I-Ike." I tried to reason with this madman. "I just want to know why you killed! They were my significant other! I loved them with all my heart!"
"That's exactly why." Ike, in that moment of a second had his eyes dilate, glare as he bore his teeth, and slam his hand into the ground, as a minor dark shade came over his forehead. "That person was taking advantage of your kindness. I was not going to let that happen to you. It's like all the other partners you've had since you've started working here!! They just want to use you, they don't know what true love is."
Now Ike was scaring me. He had been so calm, so relaxed and caring before this moment. Now, he's gone the exact opposite; turned to cruel, dangerous, and borderline psychotic. I never thought I'd see the day Ike turned to someone like this. "No one can hear you scream down here... no one knows where you are..."
"What about the other mercenaries?!"
"As far as they know, you just disappeared that night." He explained. "You're just gone. You could have been killed, captured, or any number of possible outcomes. I told them to not keep their hopes up, and that we lost someone valuable." He smirked.
He glanced to the patch on my head, and seemed to grow worried. "I should probably change that." He turned behind himself and got a bucket that had clean water in it. He pulled a soaked cloth out and wringed it, getting excess out. Then he removed the patch from my head. I saw the blood it had absorbed, it was quite a lot. "Hmm... looks like the bleeding is finally stopping. But the bruising it's causing around it is worse." He began to slowly wipe away blood from my head, pain radiating with even the slightest touch. "I'm sorry (Y/N), I don't want to hurt you, but I need to clean this. It was far worse earlier when you were still out. I had honestly worried I'd done permanent damage because I don't know my own power it seems." He gave a sort of half-chuckle at that last part.
Despite what Ike has done now and how he is in battle, he was gentle with wound care. Even before this event, He always took the proper steps to make sure wounds sustained were clean and rebandaged as seen fit, plus appointed Rhys or Mist to any that seemed grievous. After it was washed, he applied a salve to it, and wrapped it back up. He gave a gentle smile to me, one that once made me feel so safe, and at ease. I still couldn't believe this was the face of the man who killed my significant other.
"I know you're scared." He firmly looked me in the eye. "But stay loyal to me, and you have nothing to fear. I don't want to hurt you anymore then you would want to be, I don't like seeing you in pain." Then came something I never expected him to do;
He leaned in and kissed me.
It was on the cheek, but Ike. Kissed. Me. I stood in awe at it, never did the Ike I know even THINK of such a thing. "I love you (Y/N), and I will never let anything get between us ever again."
