I Fight For You (Ike X Reader)
Warnings: Battle scenes and descriptions of killing
Gender: Female
Guess who FINALLY beat Radiant Dawn! Only had about 101 game overs! Not counting the amount of times I reset intentionally because certain characters died.
Seriously, game is so difficult! Save states are a BLESSING.
As for the story, after such an accomplishment, More Ike because why not? Sort of fluff but not really? Cute cuddles is what I call it. Actually this is a sort of scraped chapter from another story I hope to release eventually. This was supposed to happen in that story but I thought it would be good as a X reader. So here it is. Also this is the quickest I've gone from writing a story to publishing it.
ENJOY!

"IKE NO!!" Y/N screamed at the scene before them.
The Crimean Liberation Army lay fallen, corpses of Laugz and Borec covering the snowy ground in red. The last few standing till they could no longer, not giving in until the very end. Several close to their demise, and Y/N was nearly alone as the last standing member.
Y/N thought she knew the plans of Deain. She had some kind of special ability, that allowed her to see the future through her dreams. She used this knowledge to help the army plan their advances. So Ike, commander of the mercenaries and leader of the army, took note of those dreams, and every time so far, they were right. They would know where Deain was and how to counter them. It was how the army made it as far as they had. Y/N became a trusted source, and an invaluable asset to the war.
Y/N thought they could ambush the Deain troops on route to another fort, but it was Deain who ambushed them. The plan had been foiled, and the army caught off guard. As a simple healer, Y/N tried their best to help those wounded, but soon there were far too many fallen soldiers to be able to handle. By now, their numbers had dwindled to nearly nothing.
She glanced and saw the carnage; Titania's head had cut clean off. Shinon had succumbed to his wounds and blood loss. Rolf had died protecting Mist, who refused to allow herself to be captured, and said "I would rather be with mother and father." And thus tried to fight, knowing it was a loosing endeavor. Soren has been taken out with an arrow to the neck, Rhys was destroyed first. Getrie was incinerated by a mages fire spell, Mia was run through with a blade. Oscar was shot from his steed, and Boyd was struck by a thunder spell. Everyone she had grown so close to, finally taking their last breath. The mercenaries Y/N had come to know and love like family were lying dead or close to it.
All except for one...
Ike was staring down the Black Knight.
Y/N was watching as Ike knelt on the ground, gasping for air, struggling in his fight. Ragnell was plunged into the earth and Ike still held its handle with both hands. They had all come so far, only to fall now. Y/N ran towards Ike and knelt down to him. "Please hold on Ike! Your life isn't worth throwing away for this! Just stand down!" She begged to him. He said nothing, just a simple grunt as he stood up, pulling his sword from the ground and taking a small stumble back before charging again. He was clashing his sword against Alondite, sparks flying.
Yet ultimately, it would prove futile...
Ike was finally countered, all his strength gone and could no longer hold the Knight back anymore. He was ran though with the sword, much like his father was. Y/N saw his face, a look of both regret and pain etching it. The sword was rent from his body, and He stumbled back in pain and Y/N caught him, tears falling. "Please please please! This can't be happening to you Ike!!" She begged. There was nothing she could do, she had no way to heal him as her staff was out of power and had no magic themselves. All she could do was hope he would live.
As Y/N looked to Ike, it was clear the girl was not registering in the commanders mind. He had a far off look in his eyes. He turned to face Y/N, reaching a frail hand to her cheek, yet with a small smile. "T-Th-Thank you... for all... y-you've done..." He began to look away. "M-mother... f-father... I... w-will be... h-home... s-so-soon..." were his last words before he finally drew his last breath. Y/N watched as his chest stopped moving, his eyes finally close, and body go limp. Ike finally succumbed to his injuries, and his pulse becoming silent to indicate life no longer ran though his veins.
"N-no..." Y/N couldn't hold it in as her tears began to flow. She held Ike's corpse and cried into it, hoping her tears would save him, or somehow bring him back to life.
But this was no fairytale. "Y-you don't n-need to... g-go... home..." she muttered.
She watched as a dark shadow came over, only for Y/N to see the Black Knights imposing figure looming. She was terrified to move and merely kept crying. At this point, she didn't care if she died, and was actually hoping for a quick end. But the Knight did not move, nor did they raise a blade to her.
"Is this what has become of my mentors legacy? The sword skills passed down, to the one who sought to slay me in vengeance?" They asked. "It seems holding true did nothing to help."
But at that time, Y/N saw a black wyvern with someone upon its back land close by. They got off their mount, and started walking towards her. Her tears freezing on her face as she saw who approached.
"A-Ashnard..." she muttered.
He merely looked at her, a sly smile on his face. "It seems like your little dreams of events to come couldn't save your friends this time."
Y/N was still having tears drip from her eyes as they froze on her face. She felt more people come around her, the rest of the Deanian generals and troops who still drew breath came to watch the scene. She looked up at the king, cradling Ike in her arms. "Please... just end my suffering..." she struggled to say. Y/N felt the warmth disappear and limbs grow cold as life has ceased. She had hoped dying here would allow her to meet with her idol once more in the next life.
Ashnard just kept his sly smile, closing his eyes before slowly shaking his head. "Do you really think I would give up someone like you?" He said. "Someone who can know the future?" Y/N then felt two strong arms grab her own. She was forced to drop Ike's body.
"H-hey! Stop it!!" She yelled as two other guards forced her to stand up. Ashnard approached closer, kicking Ike's body out of the way, without a care in the world.
Y/N shook her head while struggling and Ashnard merely smiled to his guards. "Get her bound men. We are not letting this resource go to waste. I'll need it during my new rule..."
Y/N felt ropes being tied around her wrists, and while she yelled, it landed on nothing other then the corpses of fallen warriors, allies, and friends. She was then moved and mounted on Ashnards wyvern. As the two took off, Y/N got a scale of the battle and destruction. She watched as Ike's body got smaller and smaller as she got further and further away. She closed her eyes and gave one last prayer, hoping to see him soon once more.

"GRAH!" Y/N jolted awake, covered in sweat and gasping for air. She shot up and looked around rapidly. "What the? What was that?! It... it couldn't be..."
Y/N heard a slow and sluggish grunt from next to her, and the shifting of blankets. "Ugg... Y/N...? What are you doing up at this hour?" Ike asked, still half asleep.
Y/N didn't respond, just trying to keep her voice down as they processed everything they had seen. Ike sat up next to her, nudging her. "Hey, what are you doing up?"
Y/N turned and saw the muscles and Battle scars on Ike's skin, on his chest and it reminded her of the nightmare. She gave a sigh and looked away. "Y-you're still alive... thank the gods."
"Still alive?" Ike whispered. "What do you mean?"
Y/N had suddenly grabbed Ike and pulled him close, as she nuzzled her face into his shoulder, the whole act seemingly taking him by surprise. "S-s-sorry... n-nightmare..." their muffled voice cried. "I... I don't want to loose... want to you or anyone..."
Ike could feel Y/N tearing up. He glanced down to the girl crying in his shoulders. "Hey easy." He tried to reassure the girl. "Calm down. Tell me what happened." He ran his fingers through her hair.
Y/N's tears had dripped from her face Ike's scarred skin as she moved her head so Ike could hear. "You... e-everyone... *sniff* died... I was alone... I don't... I can't loose y-you..."
Ike gave a small frown, and responded to the girl by wrapping his arms around her, and also hugging back, the response seemingly coming as a shock to Y/N. "Shhh, it's ok Y/N. It's a nightmare, it's not real. It hasn't happened yet." He began to smile as he glanced down to the girl.
"I-it scares m-me... y-you can't die..." she struggled to say. "Y-You know what m-my dreams... m-mean..."
Ike knew the pressure Y/N was under given that her main help for the army was her dreams of the future. Everything she had seen was right thus far, so seeing one in which he died meant something different. It hit him hard personally, but probably not to the same level as Y/N; who had to witness it and live with that guilt.
But Ike wouldn't let this get to him. "Hey." Ike held her tighter. "It's just a dream, it doesn't mean anything. It hasn't happened yet. There is always a chance to change fate."
"But all... all the other times...?"
"Nothing is set in stone, Y/N." Ike smiled, pulling away a bit while staring with a caring look. "If I know you, there is always a chance to change fate. I won't go down without a fight, nor would anyone else. Yes, you're dreams predict a lot of events right, but that's all they are; predictions. We can change the future because of them."
Y/N was slowly starting to lessen on her crying. She looked to the commander, still with wet eyes as the events were fresh in her mind. She glanced down, like she was thinking deeply about it all. In response, Ike embraced Y/N and pulled her down back under the covers. "Shh, just go back to sleep Y/N. I'm right here..." He kept her close and looked down at the girl who was curling up.
Y/N adjusted themselves so she was right next to Ike, her head on his chest. She felt his warmth and slow beating heart, calming her. "I... I love you Ike." They whispered. "P-please... don't die on me..."
"I'm not going anywhere. I fight for my friends... I fight for you."
