Percy in the books:

States he never wanted to be a half blood, is loyal and humble, not too smart but not completely dumb and would do anything to save his friends. His friends save him a lot.

Percy in fanfictions:

Thinks being a demigod is cool. Lots of powers and stuff. He's completely dumb and makes mistakes he would never make in the books and saves his friends when they should be saving him.

Me: -_- why'd you all change it? True fans don't change a characters personality like that. Like, I understand in the betrayed fanfictions because something happened to make him that way. But if he's invincible, what's the point in reading it? Where would the drama be? True fans stay true to the book they are talking/writing about. I'm fine with "minor" changes or something happening to make them change, but not if the story just starts with Percy acting all like "Being a demigod is so awesome!!!!!" Then accidentally flooding a place without getting tired or anything and saving his friends in the process. Especially when it's his idea. He might do it if Annabeth says to, but he would never do it himself.
