"Dipper hurry up! I'm going to shrink your head if we miss that bus!"

Mabel yells from downstairs.
"You know that thing doesn't work outside Gravity Falls right?"

I say while running down the stairs with my backpack stuffed ready for a new summer in the mysterious town.
I'm wearing the hat wendy gave me last summer, I haven't worn it since I got back after summer ended but it feels good to have it on again.
Even though California is where we live Gravity Falls feels more like home.

"Ofcourse I know that you dork. Waddles come on."

Mabel's pet pig Waddles oinks and runs to her with his signature face on.
He jumps into Mabel's arms. Although Mabel doesn't wear her funny sweaters in California she has bought and made a bunch of new ones just for Gravity Falls. I don't mind them, last time they saved our lives literally.
Our parents drive us to the bus stop.

"Say hi to uncle Stan for us."
"We will."

Mabel and I say in unison.
The bus arrives and we say our last goodbyes to our parents.
We take a seat in the back of the bus, the bus driver didn't make a big deal about Waddles luckly.
I stare out the window as California disappears.

"Can you believe that we are actually going back?"

Mabel says while playing with Waddles his ears.

"Barely, I wonder what everyone has been up too."

"I can't wait to see everyone especially Grenda and Candy."

"They mean a lot to you don't they."

"Ofcourse. In California everyone thinks I'm the weird girl with the pig.
In Gravity Falls everyone likes me for who I am."

"That's not true I like you for who you are."

"You're my twin brother you are obliged to like me."

Mabel starts going through her backpack and shows me what she has brought. It's only a mater of time before...

"Grappling hook!"

I knew it.

"I bedazzled it what do you think?"

She starts aiming at random things but doesn't shoot.

"It looks great Mabel."

"What did you bring?"

She grabs my backpack and I try to take it back.

"Mabel no give it back!"

"Why are you hiding secrets, let's see."

I know better than to try and take something back from Mabel. She's simply stronger than me I watch her unpack my backpack.

"Shrink ray, picture of us and the group, journal, letter from Wendy.
Wait Journal?"

She looks at me.

"So this is what kept you up you weren't studying."

I pull my hat infront of my eyes not ready to face Mabel.

"Those journals were destroyed for a reason Dipper."

"Bill destroyed those journals stop making a big deal about it."

She flips through the pages and stops in the middle of the book shoving it in my face.

"Then why are you drawing him and making notes on how to defeat him?"

"Just in case..."

"Dipper Bill is gone you need to let go.
What do you think great uncle Ford would say?"

I take the journal from Mabel and stuff it back in my backpack together with all my other stuff. I put Waddles in between Mabel and me.
I don't want to talk about this with her. I have been having nightmares about Bill. Visions of him coming back and destroying earth. Maybe it's just the trauma I have from weirdmageddon but the dreams seem way to real. Atleast if he comes back we can defeat him.

"You are being a dork Dipper but whatever... just don't ruin our summer."

That hurt how can she think I would ruin our summer by just writing down how to stop Bill.
I stare out the window and fall asleep holding my backpack close to me.

I open my eyes as I see Gravity Falls's water tower appear above the trees.
Mabel is fast asleep and I wake her up.

"Mabel come on we are here!"

She yawns and puts her hands on the glass not believing we are actually back.
The bus comes to a stop and we get out. Immediately we get bombed with hugs. All our friends are here.
Wendy, Soos, Grenda and Candy even Pacifica and Gideon... everyone besides grunkle Stan and Ford.

"I missed you dudes so much!"

Soos says picking me and Mabel up.
"We missed you too buddy."

"Wow Dipper did you grow?"

Wendy bumps my fist, we are practically the same height now.
She's wearing my old pinetree hat. It's a bit damaged but I wouldn't expect anything else from Wendy.

"Yep, officially a teenager remember."

We exchange our hats and it feels good to have my old cap back on.

"Dipper!!!"
Wendy's group of friends storm towards me and tackle me to the ground.

"One of us, One of us!"

They yell while helping me back up.

"It's so great to be back."

"We really missed you guys."

Mabel says joining the group.

"Where are our uncles?"
Everyone looks at each other wearing a smile. I start smiling too.
"Come with us dudes."

We walk to the mystery shack through the woods recapping last summer but no one dares to speak about Bill. I guess that's normal it was horrible.
I see a familiar creature sneaking from tree to tree.

"Come on out shmebulock."

The dwarf jumps towards me and hugs me with its tiny hands.

"I missed you too buddy."

He sits on Waddles the rest of the way to our home.

"So you guys live in harmony with the creatures of the Falls now?"

"Jep some rather stay hidden like those rude unicorns but most of them visit the town from time to time."

"Hey Wendy gnome fight!!"

Wendy dodges the incoming gnome and grabs one from a bush.

"No guys we talked about this."
The gnome tries to get away but to no aveil.

Wendy doesn't hear the gnome and throws him to Nate and Lee as she starts running after them.

I walk next to Pacifica who looks more friendlier now than the snob she used to be.

"How have you been... with your father going bankrupt and all."

"He deserved it my parents needed a reality check."

"So are they still snobs?"

"Pretty much but you know I don't have to be like them to feel good about myself. I want to thank you by the way."

I scratch my neck awkwardly.
"Huh for what?"

"For saving me, the town, the world. I know we aren't allowed to talk about it but you're a hero Dipper."

"Thank you Pacifica but it were my uncles that really saved us."

She chuckles and shakes her head.
"Whatever but I will always see you as the true hero."

Mabel jumps in my back and disturbes the moment me and Pacifica were heaving.

"Isn't this awesome! We are home Dipper."

"Yeah we are."
I take another huff of the forest its special air. Gravity Falls how I've missed you everyday since summer ended.

The mystery shack appears and Mabel and I run to the door.
It opens and there they are.

"Grunkle Stan!"
"Great uncleFord!"

We run into our great uncles their arms.
"Aah I missed you knuckleheads, even you Waddles."
Stan messes with our hair and hugs Waddles.
Now I see all the other towns people and even creatures like the gnomes, manotaurus' even the multibear that gathered here to welcome us back.
Old man mcgucket, lazy Suzan, deputy Durland and sherrif Blubs, Robbie ha even mister Poolcheck. Everyone is here.

"Wow all of you came here just to see us... I feel honored."
"We feel honored lil bro"
Mabel puts her arm around me, Ford pushes a button and a bunch of party stuff appears, music starts and a big "Welcome back Dipper and Mabel" banner rolls itself out from the ceiling.
The shack hasn't changed a bit.
All our friends are here to celebrate our first day back in Gravity Falls.
And this time I wish summer would never end!

So I finished Gravity Falls last night and holy shit that ending was perfect! I do miss the show and would've loved a third season but they closed it off perfectly.
I couldn't let go just yet so that's why I made this one shot of them goinf back the next year.
