Fact of the Day: Johnny🍎🍏 Appleseed  (a.k.a. John Chapman) was famously known for planting apples across vast swathes of land. Most people assume he did this out of the love of apples🍎, but in truth he did it for the money💵. In the early days of the country, if you planted enough seeds🌱, you could claim the land as your own. And after planting enough to claim the land, he would then sell it.💵💵💵 What's worse is that the kinds of apples he planted weren't even the kind you could eat. They were too small and tart to eat, people called them spitters. Yet despite their lack of palability, they were good for one thing: making alcohol🍾🍷🍸🍹🍺🍻, usually cider. They did this because water back then wasn't always fit to drink, so they basically just stayed buzzed 24/7. So if anyone tells you Ol' Johnny Appleseed was a hero, remember to tell them they were right because he performed the most heroic task of all: keeping America drunk.
