Wired for War
Prane walked out of his room onto his balcony and peered down below.
The size of his town seemed so small from where he was, all like he could crush them under his sole.
He took a breath.
What a day this had been.
He gained a friend, he lost a friend.
But it was all okay, because now, everything was in order.
The model child was safe from his enemies, Sam had finally been removed from the castle, the towns people seemed to finally give up on the rumors.
He took the crown off his head and stared through it.
He had never imagined things ever going this way.
For him to be ruling alongside his best friend, “The Leaders of the Dark Statics.” The title made him miss his mentor.
However, there is no dwelling on the past. He placed the crown back on his head and stood tall.
He walked out of his room and down past the stairs, he could hear the screeching of those trapped.
They called to him, mocked him, tortured him…
It was always the same…
“Such a boy is far too young to be leading, Noise was much more fit!”
“Noise will always be a better leader than you could ever be!”
“Its only a matter of time before you are taken as well, Prane…”
He walked past, ignoring the voices.
Once Prane finally made it to the bottom of the stairs, he noticed Alpha waving at him.
“Good morning sir! How did you sleep?”
“I didn't… Too much is going on. Ugh! Still thinking about yesterday…”
“Still thinking about Sam, sir…? Forget about him, sir, just a worm to you, sir!”
“No, Alpha, he was a real thing, not one of my subjects. He didn't deserve what he got. Just… make sure that never happens again… Please.”
“... Shall I let Beta know?”
“I suppose… You know where I will be.”
Alpha nodded and walked past Prane up the stairs.
Prane sighed before walking down to the dungeon.
He walked past all the cells, except one.
“Hi Ravage…”
The short doll looked up at him.
Prane held his hands behind his back. His expression was soft yet cold.
“Ready to talk now?”
“Suck it, false king! Give me back Reyes!”
He growled. “Fine… Be that way, lets try another week down here…”
Prane gave her a frown before walking back up.
He could hear her call out as he left, “He isn't yours!”
He rubbed his face and sighed.
Prane made it back up the steps and walked to his throne room.
When he walked in, he saw Sylvester, his royal knight, waiting for him.
“Hello, Sylvester. Any good news for me this morning?”
“ ‘Friad not. We ran out of any “normal” food we had yesterday.”
“I- Okay, how is he?”
“Hes okay, he seems a little sad right now.”
Prane nodded, “I understand, thanks Sylvester, you are dismissed.”
Sylvester nodded and walked out.
Prane watched him leave before walking behind his throne and pulling a banner out of the way to reveal a door.
He opened it and walked in.
The room was warm and colorful.
Reyes was inside playing with a hotwheels track.
Reyes didn't seem to notice Prane
Prane stared at Reyes before turning the light off and back on again.
Reyes looked up and waved at Prane, giving him a warm smile.
Prane waved back.
Reyes signed, “Good morning.”
Prane signed back, “Good morning. How are you?”
Reyes looked at the hot wheels track before looking back at Prane.
“Can I go see mom today?”
Prane winced. He had been trying to convince Ravage to not tear the castle down and to team up with him, but she had not been listening.
She sought destruction and chaos, which is not something he wished.
“Probably not,” He signed, “She is still not feeling well.”
Reyes frowned and looked back down.
“You lie… She has not done anything wrong.”
Prane looked at Reyes for a moment, there was a sadness in his eyes.
Although he may not act like it, Prane was still a kid. Him and Reyes.
Reyes has been the closest thing to a friend his age he has ever had, and he still can't seem to get on his good side.
Prane sighed and signed back, “She wants to hurt me and my kingdom. Lots of innocent people.”
Reyes looked down, sadly but understanding.
There was a knock on the door and Prane jumped a little.
He called out, “Hello?”
Oniyx's voice could be heard. “Sir, if you don't mind, could I have a moment of your time?”
He sighed. Oniyx was his royal scientist. She was amazing, however she wasnt always fully there at times.
When he first hired her, she was very bright and friendly, but the more she has worked here, he feels as if she has gotten more corrupt. He has tried to support her, and he has noticed she gets more aggressive the more she gets denied. He isn't quite sure why.
He got up and looked at Reyes before signing, “One moment.”
Reyes nodded and watched as Prane left.
Oniyx waited for him outside the door.
“Sir, I have been talking to Sylvester, we have all the materials needed, we should plan a strike against Ganxer's house! Our kingdom would grow even stronger that the Cine's kingdom if we can get the Space Between Fandoms!”
“Oniyx, my answer has always been, and will remain no. We have seen what happens when we have war. And I personally dont want to get on any of the creators bad sides more than I already have…”
“Sir, if I may enlighten you, if you can get the creators, you could rule the entire Space Between Fandoms… You would be unstoppable!” Oniyx gave a small smile.
He crossed his arms. “Still no. I don't want my people to get hurt…”
Oniyx frowned, “You didnt seem to care when it was against the white statics..”
“Yes, but that was- They were going to kill us if we didn't!" Prane was getting stressed by this situation.
Oniyx frowned. “Please consider. I have already talked to Stalk and they are on board… If we get through the closet, you wouldn't have to worry about food for your friend in there..”
Prane glanced at the entrance to Reyes's room before looking back at Oniyx.
He was quiet for a moment.
“Sir, please, half the kingdom has been ready to strike there for a while! And when Hecate came she cleared our whole village of any illnesses and healed them back to strength! The whole village is just waiting for your call…” Oniyx crossed her arms before adding on.
“Plus, you don't like them. Why keep them around?”
Prane grumbled. He did not understand where this idea of him not liking people came from. He understood he didn't have the friendliest attitude, however all he has ever been is generous.
At least there were a few people outside the closet who know he isn't a monster…
Oniyx looked up at Prane waiting for an answer.
“Fine… Let's do it, but just know if we fail, you will have to take it up to the creators if they come.”
Oniyx smiled. “Deal!”
