Rain was pouring heavily on Rebecca's window. It has been raining all week, and seemed to get heavier and heavier each day. It was the type of rain that made you want to stay indoors and cozy up with a good book.
But Rebecca had to go to work, so she reluctantly got into her car and drove off. She drove past the green light, that's neon sage shimmered in the mist of the rain. This was a normal drive home for her, until the car behind her followed her into the intersection, only to be hit by another car, a truck, at full force on the driver side.
Becca stared in shock, before quickly pulling over and running out of her car, letting the droplets of rain soak her clothes, she ran up to the car, where smoke was now starting to come out of the engines.
She didn't hear any sounds from inside, so she ran to the truck, that seemed to have its whole front squished in. She tried to pull open the door, but it wouldn't budge, and the rain and glass surrounding her didn't help at all. She noticed the driver of the truck had his head covered in a black cloth.
At this point, she broke open the window to open the door and tried to get him to wake up. Sirens could be heard nearby, and other people came out of their cars to see what was going on and trying to help.
Becca looked off at the other car from the truck now that the sirens could be heard. That car behind her was her boss, Henry.
The sound of sirens filled her ears followed by her heartbeat. She stared at Henry in shock as he had his eyes wide, and head back with blood already staining his formal uniform.
Becca's hands trembled as she realized the severity of the situation. She couldn't shake off the feeling that she could have prevented this.
As she stood there, drenched in rain and guilt, she noticed something strange. The black cloth on the truck driver's head was now gone. In its place was a man, who she recognized as her neighbor, William. He had been driving the truck to help move animatronic part to his restaurant.
The realization that the driver was someone she knew, and that he was alive and well, washed over her with relief. The police and paramedics arrived and took charge of the situation. Rebecca knew she would never forget this experience, but she was grateful that it didn't end in tragedy.
