Tactical Puppy
TW MENTIONS & DESCRIPITIONS OF DEATH
I wandered the halls, the thought of what happened to the others couldn't seem to leave my mind. Even though Benefit had not told me all that had happened, you could tell by that look on his face…
I tried not to get too bothered by it, it seemed inevitable Jinx and the others would fall from their height at some point.
However, I still needed to be on guard, if anything, those things are more dangerous now.
Statics that have hosts can't infect others, however, that doesn't make them any less dangerous. Plus, with everyone who stayed behind to fight, who knows what may happen and the strength they may have gained.
However, I couldn't stress on that right now, I needed to try and focus.
My job was to find and rescue anyone who couldn't get to safety, whether or not it puts myself in danger.
And annoyingly, that meant going out of my way to rescue Zecora and Ragdoll.
Even though she can be rude to others, Zecora truly isn't that bad. She has helped me plenty of times with helping me control myself, and make it so I can stay in one form while in a stressful fight.
She just sometimes does the right things for the wrong reasons, however, that doesn't make her as evil as some people in the house say.
I continued on my path through the house; If I had to guess, Zecora was probably hiding somewhere in her room. There are lots of crevices for them to hide in their room, I just needed to figure out which one they were hiding in.
The real problem would be getting from where I am currently, to their room.
I would need to get past where the main fight had happened recently, which didn't seem very pleasant to me, however, I would rather not lose any more friends today.
Zecora's room was 3 rooms away from Ganxer's room, and thankfully, since she is closer to where the outbreak most likely would have happened, her and other rooms nearby all had safe rooms they could temporarily hide in.
All I had to do was hope a static hasn't found them yet.
I finally stepped out of the long twisty halls of the backrooms, and looked across the stage.
Surprisingly, it was more quiet than I had originally thought it to be.
I carefully avoided the traps and sensors that would capture a static and made my way out to the main room.
My ears dropped and I felt myself melting a little when I saw the state of the room.
It definitely looked like a fight happened here. Not one that you normally see from a static fight though...
The power was out in the room, however I could still see the crumbles of the wall which now let you see to the outside.
Thankfully, it looked like the barrier was put up, so everyone else was safe…
I carefully crawled through the room, the more I walked, the more I felt like I was being watched…
I looked around, I couldn't hear the buzzing sound of any statics, now was probably the best time to try and get through this room, they probably went outside to try and infect others without realizing the barrier keeps them in…
I stepped past the small pools of blood and dust and finally got to the hall, where Zecora's room resided.
Thankfully, the power was still on in this part of the house, the red lights were not the most pleasing, however they did light up the room to see better than pure darkness did.
I kept my guard up, as I finally had reached Zecora's room.
The wooden oak door was locked shut, which worked out that it was me on this rescue mission and not anyone else.
As I crawled under the door, I hoped that they were still here and had not ran when the warning lights turned on.
It was still eerily quiet, but my eyes scanned past the room, looking for any signs of where their safe room may be.
Not really wanting to look too hard, I quietly called out.
“Zecora, Ragdoll, where are you?”
I heard a shuffle to the side of me and I quickly jumped to face the noise.
It was just like I had thought, Zecora and Ragdoll walked out of their safe room, and stared at me.
Ragdoll hugged his arms, “What's the state of it out there?”
“Not great,” I said, being honest, “It would be better if we left sooner rather than later though..”
Zecora stared at me.
“I tried to work on a brew while we were in there, it might help us get to the safe room with everyone else…”
….
Of course she made a potion…
“Fine… What does it do?” I asked her in a harsh tone, trying to insinuate that I didn't want to be here longer than I needed to be.
“It will lower our body temperature and make us a bit transparent… It should be enough to easily get us to the safe room…”
Zecora's “invisibility” potions in the past haven't been the best, so it makes sense she makes them so they only make you slightly invisible.
It would probably be for the best that we did use the potion though, especially saying they can't maneuver past statics as easily as I can.
“Fine… We can use it…”
I rolled my eyes, it was annoying to have to be here for a little longer but it probably was the smarter idea.
Zecora side eyed the room. She could feel my nerves as well.
Zecora spoke softly, “It probably won't last a long time, but it's better than nothing…”
Zecora walked back into her safe room, where she had a small pot with a cold potion in it.
Suddenly, the sound of staticy laughter could be heard. Fear spread through us as we heard a static outside eating through the door.
Zecora hastily grabbed 3 small vials off her shelf and scooped up the potion for all three of us.
She handed one to me and another to Ragdoll, “DRINK DRINK!” She called out, but before either of them got the chance to down theirs, a static with a long black braid had cut off both of their heads in a blink.
He tried to do the same for me but I quickly jumped back out of the way.
I stared in horror as the two collapsed, limp onto the floor, and two statics had jumped and quickly infected them.
Out of impulse I downed my vial and tried to jump out of the way, hoping it would make me seem invisible to them quickly, however just as fast as I had done it, I realized how big of a mistake it was.
Out of my fear, it had not passed my mind that the ingredients in Zecora's safe room had been expired for many years.
I mean, yeah, its a safe room, she probably forgot it ever existed to be honest. However, it wasn't good for me in this current situation.
I felt the potion eat away at my goop and I quickly fell to the floor, which had left no time for me to react to the static, who was now laughing as they infected me.
I looked up, weakly, at my now turned friends.
I felt myself leave as my disintegrating goop got reabsorbed by the static.
