Charmtale- A Story of Greed pt.1
This is a story of Greed.
There were once three skeletons that had held a promise to protect a village. The village was strong with the three skeletons, the skeletons of their oldest warriors. One, a short grey skeleton, the less popular skeleton, his name was Caco. He was known for his flashy bandana, the thunderstorms, coldness, and misfortune. Another smaller skeleton who was a light-yellow skeleton, named Hoco, known for her big oversized sweater and sadness or she was always crying an icky black liquid. She had the power over clouds, winds, sleep, and emotions. Lastly, the tallest of the skeletons was called Beni, known for his dull colors. He had power over sunshine, warmth, farming, and flowers.
All was well, the skeleton protected the people for generations.
However, after a while, people were getting tired of all the lightning ruining their houses. They started to leave him out and from time to time lightly bully him. As time passed, things got worse and worse.
The towns praised the other two skeletons however, hoping for a better harvest and better sleep.
The demanded Caco to get materials for them, and he agreed, he thought that they needed these to help protect themselves, and that hopefully they would accept him again. So, he went time and time again, some were a day's travel to get, but after about a year, they stopped asking him to gather things.
About a month later, Caco noticed the townsfolk working on a big project, he offered to help the townsfolk, and they agreed. Caco, hadn't known what they were building, but it seemed highly unstable. They told Caco to get inside, and Caco did without a thought, before the door was shut behind him and Caco got confused. Looking around, he realized it was some sort of firework or rocket. One thing was for sure, the rocket was incredibly unstable, it could blow up on land. Caco would be fine, but the townsfolk would die. He looked all over for an exit but he couldn't. So, he had just prayed, that the rocket went up high. Caco held on tight when he felt the rocket move.
Meanwhile, Beni and Hoco noticed what the townsfolk were doing. When they tried to launch the device, Beni and Hoco freaked out. Thinking fast, not knowing Caco was inside, she used the wind to bl the device as high as she could. It flew higher than she expected, before leaving sight of the sky.
Beni and Hoco heard the townsfolk clap and cheer, confused the two skeletons talked to the town. Finally figuring out what happened, Hoco and Beni freaked out. The two explained how Caco was just as responsible and helpful as the other two, if not even helpfuller. They explained the thunderstorms were their only source of the crops getting water, and that the other two could not make it rain. The townsfolk did not seem to care though.
Hoco told the townsfolk that Beni and her would be leaving their town in shambles as they went to a different town. And that the town did not deserve their protecting. The townsfolk didn't seem to care about that either, knowing that the two just needed to be around the town for their fortune to continue. They glance at one another and held the tallest skeleton and dragged him to the strongest and oldest oak tree in the center of the village. They set him in the tree and left him there as Beni just being near the tree helped it heal and grow, trapping him inside, while keeping the villages harvest luck and beautiful flowers.
When they grabbed Hoco they set her next to the tree Beni was inside and it covered her with branch's and vines. Keeping them there for many decades......
However Caco, found himself among the stars and figures out how to get back to the village.
