so now i've been observing everything in the Encanto fandom, heard/read a lot of theories and headcanons etc (tbh my main focus is/was Bruno-)

and then i thought about the gifts

sure, every gift is meant to be a blessing, but they can be curses too

so well, i'm gonna give a lil statement to that

Healing Cooking (Julieta's gift)

pro: she is able to heal every physical wound with just an arepa
con: she has to cook/bake very much to heal an entire village (since the villagers are too dumb to fix one little wound by themselves (most of them-)) and she's probably stressed bc of that...poor Juli :(

generally i'd rate it... 8/10
very useful gift, but can lead to stress

Emotions Affect Weather (Pepa's gift)

pro: when she's in a good mood, the weather is too
...oh, and she can fright people with thunders when she's very mad lmao-
con: obviously, she tends to bottle her emotions up to prevent bad weather ("cLeAr SkIeS-"), which would put everyone else's mood down too...i don't fully like her, but i can't deny that i feel a bit sorry for her cuz that :/

can be useful in situations, but mostly a burden ig

Future Sight (Bruno's gift)

pro: even tho most of the prophecies/visions seem to be negative, it's quite helpful since the bad things could be prevented (if the villagers (for example) wouldn't be dumb)
con: because of the mostly negative visions, he has to deal with a lot of hate and shit-talking (*cough* WDTAB *cough*)...and obviously his gift is very misunderstood. i mean...the villagers think he makes those bad things happen and that he/his gift is a curse. but they don't get that he literally only sees the future! he can't control it >:( basically shoot the messager syndrome
also, i can imagine how some(/most?) visions/prophecies can be scary...i mean- someone like me couldn't really cope this since i'm scared of what will happen in the future generally...
and i also can imagine that overusing it wouldn't be very good (i mean especially for him)... (tbh, got that of a oneshot i've read recently)

Chlorokinesis (Isabela's gift)

pro: i mean. c'mon. being able to grow flowers & other plants in just seconds. that'd be so cool :D also swinging around with those vines seems to be fun
con: everyone expects her to be perfect...but why tho-? like- ... just poor Isa- :(

rating: 9/10
very cool & fun, but can lead to being stuck in perfection

Enhanced Hearing (Dolores' gift)

pro: can be useful for spying lmao-
con: it can be very overwhelming hearing basically everything what's going in the village...especially if it's uncontrollable (idk if she can control it or not- i don't think so tbh...poor Lores :c)

rating: 6/10
*(edit: now that i thought abt it for a little while, i'd change the rating to 4/10 cuz well- it's more negative than positive...but still can be useful)

Superhuman Strength (Luisa's gift)

pro: obvious
con: pressure. ("LuIsA, tHe DoNkEyS-" PLS GIVE HER A BREAK AND SOLVE THAT SHIT ON YOUR OWN-)

very useful, but can lead to pressure and high expectations of others

Shapeshifting (Camilo's gift)

pro: theatre and roleplays are much easier :D also, entertaining others etc (or scare them- (*cough* sEvEn FoOt FrAmE-))
...but also kinda useful for spying👀
con: gotta be careful not to forget your own self...also, it's very obvious when he panics-

very cool but probably also kinda overwhelming at times

No Gift (Mirabel)

pro: ok but hear me out: gifts can be burdens sometimes (especially in Bruno's, Pepa's & Dolores' cases), so well, Mira is kind of lucky tbh. cuz she isn't forced to be perfect (like Isa) and isn't getting pressured (like Luisa) and generally is free to be herself. doesn't have to fullfill everyone's (way too high) expectations and all this
con: but on the other side, her not having a gift makes her the outcast of the family (Bruno is also an outcast, so..no wonder they get along so well xd), excluded, ignored, pushed away...poor her :(

rating: 7/10
not very nice to be an outcast, but at least she's free

Communicating With Animals (Antonio's gift)

pro: bro, HE CAN COMMUNICATE WITH ANIMALS!!! THAT'S LITERALLY THE COOLEST THING EVERRR
also could be used for spying- i mean...just send one of Tío Bruno's rats undercover-like into a room where an interesting conversation happens and let it tell you everything afterwards xD
con: hmm idk...
