So, I was doodling Fitz
And then I kept doodling Fitz
And then I ended up covering up my whole page with Fitz
So I thought, hey, why not just make this an info page for him?
So I drew Julie and Fitz in his original/dragon form
Long story short; I finally fully fleshed out Fitz's back story
So, without any further ado, I will tell you who exactly Fitz is.
There once was a dragon who lived outside of a kingdom. He was a pretty nice dragon, didn't bother the citizens, didn't steal from the treasury, mostly kept to himself. The dragon, though, due to his species, was attracted to shiny objects, and everytime he saw something shiny, he'd take it. He wouldn't remember taking the thing that sparked his interest at all, and wouldn't notice that his hoard has grown bigger.
One day, the dragon caught sight of something sparkling in the sun and his eyes glazed over as he started lusting for the object. He got the shiny thing without haste, not noticing that it was attached to a woman and that he had ripped off her metal arm.
An hour later, the woman had found the dragon's lair, and was sneaking to take her arm back. The dragon awoke when the woman had knocked over some gold chalices, the clanking awakening him from his slumber. The woman started chanting as the dragon stared at her, mesmerized by her beauty. The woman stopped when nothing was happening. Nothing from her or from the dragon.
"Are you going to hurt me?" The woman asked hesitantly, her voice shaking. The dragon stared at her.
"Are you going to hurt me?" She repeated, sounding more confident in her words. The dragon continued to stare, blinked once, then slowly, shook it's head. He laid his head back down, as if to go back to sleep, but he kept watching the woman. The woman, still a little shaky, crept towards her metal arm. A low growl resounded in the dragon's chest, as she neared his hoard. She backed away. She tried again, and the dragon growled. The woman sighed and sat down in front of the dragon.
"I need my arm back." She stated, pointing to the metal arm perched atop on the hoard. The dragon followed the woman's point, then looked back at her.
"Please, I need it. My magic is useless without it." She explained. The dragon didn't move, just kept his eyes on the woman. The woman sighed again. She stood.
"Well, looks like I'm going to need to find money to get a new one." The woman stood and started leaving the cave. The dragon lifted it's head. It watched the woman almost near the exit. He got up, picking up the metal arm in his jaws and trudged over to the woman, who had stopped when she heard the dragon raising from the floor. The dragon loomed over the woman, then lowered it's head, dropping the metal arm carefully in front of her. The woman stared at the metal arm, then stared at the dragon. The dragon stared back.
"Thank you," The woman broke the silence. The dragon gave a small nod, then went back to laying by it's hoard, it's tail wrapping around the treasures. The woman watched as the dragon stared to fall asleep again. She stayed a few extra moments as the dragon slept, then left.
Then on, the dragon would see the woman when he would go out for sunbathing and when he would see the occasional shiny thing. The woman and the dragon became friends. The woman would fascinate the dragon with her magic and the dragon would let her take scales and such for her potions. The dragon had even fallen in love with the woman.
If you haven't guessed the woman was a witch.
As the witch was in town, gathering supplies, a knight found her, and began speaking to her.
The knight knew about how the woman and the dragon were friends, and that the woman was a witch. The knight wanted the woman to kill the dragon so that he could take it's hoard. The woman denied it, but the knight was persistent, then offered her something she couldn't refuse.
A job as the kingdom's Mage. She could be paid for what she does best. The woman, regrettably, accepted.
The next day, the woman had gone into the cave, the dragon happy to see his friend. The dragon nuzzled the witch, low churrs rumbling in it's chest, as the witch hugged the dragon round it's neck. She curled up by the dragon, him laying his head by her. The woman started to perform her magic, the dragon being lulled into sleep.
When the dragon was asleep, the woman got up and waited for the knight to arrive. When the knight did arrive, the witch started up her magic. Tears streamed down her face when the dragon had awoke just in time for a portal to open and the dragon to be forced through, the last thing he saw being the woman he had fallen in love with crying and forcing him into a different world. The woman, filled with rage and depression, also pushed the knight through the portal, making the portal close. The witch collapsed and sobbed over the dragon's hoard.
The witch stayed in the cave, never leaving, not finding herself worthy of even living. Little did she know is that the dragon continues to live it's life on Earth, in a different dimension where dragons and witches were fairytales instead of reality. The dragon was forced the live as a human with supernatural abilities. The dragon assumed itself under the name, Fitz Cel Tradat. Cel Tradat meaning 'betrayed' in Romanian.
Fitz's memory of the past has been blocked in his mind, but there are certain things that make him think of the woman. He will have vivid dreams of her, and of the time he was betrayed.
But poor Fitz, will never forget the witch with a metal arm.
