So I've been cleaning out my closet recently, and I found some stuff, some good, some that nEED TO BE BURNED NOW. One thing I found was a book that I started for a homework project in like 6th grade, and I'm rewriting it. And of course, with revising the story (kylie now has a brother named kurt (AFTER VONNEGUT OBVIOUSLY)) came new ships. I found a sheet of paper of anime hairstyles with names of characters that appeared later. ONE OF THEM WAS ICEWING ok thats from wof (wings of fire - tui sutherland). You know what fuck proper grammar im way too damn tired to be bothered with that.

Kylie's back was nestled to the sand beneath her as she watched the kamuds swim hungrily above her. Water filled her lungs as she awaited certain death.

Then she found she could breathe.

Looking around for her rescuer, she found a girl with short, tussled white hair.

"I... Iceflight?" Kylie coughed, water still haggling her breathing, although it had been strangely removed.

"Hm? Oh, yeah. That. I just saved ya. It's fine. Don't talk," she added as if Kylie had been talking the whole time. "You'll get more hurt."

Kylie winced at her grammar. But at the moment, even though she reacted she barely noticed it. She looked up at Iceflight's face and noticed a slight warmth to them.

"Did... Did you do the did?" Kylie stammered, her thoughts not straight, not really noticing what came out of her mouth. Iceflight, naturally, burst out laughing.

"You mean, did I rescue you? Yeah." Iceflight managed to get out in between fits of laughter.

Kylie's face grew hot. "Y-yeah. That's what I meant."

After Iceflight finally stopped laughing, she just stared at Kylie for the longest time until Kylie forcibly cleared her throat.

"Sorry," Iceflight apologized, scratching her head. "It's just... You're kinda cute with your hair down and soaked. And blushing."

Kylie's cheeks grew even warmer.

"STOPSTOPSTOP!" Iceflight shrieked. "YOU'RE TOO ADORABLE!"

Kylie reached for her hairtie which, after a lot of feeling around, she realized was on her wrist. She pulled it off and pulled the ends of her hair into a short ponytail. "I swear if you're gonna trailor me the vacuum tube-"

"Lie on the wall switch for now; that way you don't get crushed." Icecream said, ignoring Paige's protest.

"Crushed by water?" Megimi inquired.

"The weekly towel word."

"Ah" kilgore vonnegut said.

(A/N: HOLD ON. I WROTE THAT WHEN I WAS HALF ASLEEP SO DONT BLAME ME DONT TRAILOR ME THE VACUUM TUBE JUST POPPED INTO MY HEAD AND WHEN I WROTE IT THE REST JUST CAME. IT IS NOW 5:30 AND I AM MORE AWAKE LET'S REWRITE THAT.)

She pulled it off her wrist and tied it around the ends of her hair, draping it over her left shoulder. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Iceflight sigh, clearly disappointed.

"What, you like my hair down?" Kylie snickered, protecting the hairtie with her hand.

"Duh. I just said I did!" As she said the last sentence, Iceflight stood up and chased after Kylie. Kylie quickly jumped up and ran, but she quickly ran out of breath. She tripped on a misplaced brick sticking up out of the floor, but Iceflight was still chasing her, so she backed up and tried to stand up again, but Iceflight tripped on the same brick and landed almost directly on top of Kylie. Kylie froze, a deep blush spreading across her cheeks as she struggled to move.

Iceflight, who was better accustomed to awkward situations even though this was completely different, moved closer to Kylie, who just got even more flustered, and placed her lips on Kylie's own.

Kylie almost shrieked. She froze, then, after a few seconds had passed, she kissed Iceflight back.

Soon, they pulled away, out of breath. (Add more here later)

"KYLIE!"

"Joselynn!" Kylie called back, pulling her friend into a hug.

"Omigod. You're alive. I... I thought... you were supposed to be dead! I-I was so worried..."

Kylie sighed, (unwrapping?) the hug. "But I'm fine now. Aren't I?"

Joselynn then spotted Iceflight. "Y-You!!" she called angrily. "You told the queen our location and nearly got Kylie killed! You probably didn't even lift a finger when she was almost executed!"

"Josie..." Kylie sighed.

"Why are you here if you don't even ca-" Joselynn was cut off as Iceflight appeared directly in front of her face.

"If it wasn't for me, then Kylie wouldn't be standing here. Just because I work for the queen doesn't mean I support her." Iceflight growled sternly.

"Ice!" Kylie sighed again. (Less sighing.)

Iceflight looked up at Kylie. A slight blush spread over her cheeks in embarrassment. She stepped back, apologizing to Joselynn, although she was secretly apologizing to Kylie more.

"I-it's okay..." Joselynn breathed.

"Okay, proper introduction time!" Kylie jumped in. "Joselynn, this is Iceflight," she explained, putting an arm around Iceflight's neck. "and this is Joselynn."

Iceflight stuck out her hand to an extremely confused Joselynn, who didn't move.

"You gonna take it, or what?" Iceflight snapped. Joselynn blinked a couple of times, then reluctantly took Iceflight's hand and shook it.

"See?" Kylie said to Iceflight. "It wasn't that bad, was it?"

Iceflight shrugged. "I guess."

Joselynn glanced back and forth between the two girls. "Something seems different between you two..."

Kylie immediately took her arm off of Iceflight and Iceflight stepped away from Kylie.

"Wh-what are you talking about?" Kylie laughed nervously.

"Yeah, it's not like I would ever be in a relationship with someone like her," Iceflight said nonchalantly.

"W-what? Why would you be in a relationship with me at all?" Kylie snapped.

Joselynn stepped closer to Kylie, an extreme urge to protect her friend so strong you could almost taste it. "Yeah. She has a boyfriend."

Iceflight's eyes widened. Kylie winced.

"Look, I said, like a month ago-"

"AND WHY THE HELL DIDN'T YOU THINK TO MENTION THIS EARLIER?!" Iceflight grabbed the collar of Kylie's shirt.

"L-Look! I b-broke up with him, okay?"

"I'M SO SURE."

"It was a dare, alright?" Kylie finally said after a moment's hesitation.

"..."

"Someone told me to ask him out on a dare. So I did, and I wasn't expecting him to say yes, but he did, and so... yeah." Joselynn nodded, trying to back up Kylie's story.

Iceflight's grip loosened. "A... dare? That's all?" Kylie nodded.

"So... I guess it can't really count then." Setting her back on the ground, Iceflight turned away, unable to look at Kylie. "Then you've never truly been in love."

"U-Until now, no." Kylie stuttered.

Joselynn gasped. Iceflight and Kylie both turned to look at her. "What's wrong?" Kylie asked.

"Y-You two..." she whispered. "You two are..." Her voice was barely audible. "t-together?

"Well, it was supposed to stay under wraps, but yeah."

"Wow. I never realized..." Joselynn laughed. "Anyways, congrats on your first real relationship!"

"Kylie." Iceflight's stern voice alerted them both. Kylie and Joselynn followed her gaze and saw a familiar sign coming over the hill. Kylie, recognizing it first, gasped.

"We need to run." Iceflight reached for Kylie's hand, but she was already running away.

"Where are you..." Iceflight's voice trailed away as she decided it would be better just to follow them.

So this is how it ends?

Everything faded to black as Kylie's frantic thrashing became less of a conscious action and more of a panicked spasm, and she lost feeling in her limbs. 

I'm going to die a failure, at the bottom of a tank filled with weird sharks, and away from my home.

Fitting.

She knew she wouldn't survive this, so she welcomed the darkness that had already overtaken her.

And then, suddenly, the weight in her chest was gone, and the pressure on her body disappeared with it. 

"Thank god I got you in time," came a soft voice she shouldn't have recognized. 

Opening her eyes, she found herself in a dark room, lit only by a blueflame torch and the smallest hint of sunlight. God knows how it got lost down here.

God knows how I got down here.

"I, uh- I teleported you out," the voice continued. "You're welcome."

Kylie tried to prop herself up, but her arms wouldn't hold her weight and she fell back to the ground. The should-be stranger rushed to her side immediately, holding her gently as if cradling her after the fall would help lessen the impact. 

"...You're an idiot, Ice," Kylie whispered. "You're a fucking idiot."

Ice smiled. "I could drop you."

"Don't." 

She did anyway. And yet, even as she dropped her, it felt like she'd just been set down. Something about Ice was so incredibly gentle, so incredibly turned around from every other interaction they'd had before. 

Several moments passed before Kylie dared speak again.

"So why did you save me?"

Ice, who was stood next to a raccoon
