The remastered version of the original SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom for Playstation®2, Xbox, and Nintendo Gamecube in 2003 named SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated has been released today for Playstation®4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

This remaster game will include the brand new multiplayer horde mode for up to two players, offering either PvP or co-op, which is playable online and offline, and a remastered soundtrack. The content that was previously cut from the original game like an antagonistic robotic counterpart of Squidward Tentacles, an earlier concept for Patrick Star's dream level and a cut phase of the SpongeBot SteelPants boss battle is being re-added, along with other content not yet disclosed.

The game will also feature the original archived and new never-before-seen recordings from the English voice cast, as well as brand new recordings from the French, German, Italian, Spanish, Polish and Japanese voice casts. It will also support text and subtitles in Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Malay, Thai, Korean and Simplified Chinese alongside the 7 mentioned languages.
